Content Post Words on things I watched, read & heard II

This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.
Agreed. Boyle is a HUGE loss for the type of offense they want to run. Bet they wish they’d have kept Ben Mason now..

Theoretically, they could still have him right? They can sign him off our PS and we'd be forced to promote him or he's gone?

Very true. Though, he seems like the type Bill would extend a few extra slices of cheese to keep.

Yeah but for whom should boyle block, their rb group is shredded if that is the right word

I get your premise, but they signed Bell, Murray & Freeman. That should produce at least decent production. They still have TE Tomlinson & FB Ricard who are both large humans who block well. Andrews isn’t too shabby either; Plus, the threat of Jackson. I believe their OL is pretty good as well. They lost a lot of talent, but they’ll manage. A good/great OL can augment an average running game.

Thanks I wasn’t aware of the last two signings. I agree with your take

They can still sign Mason off our PS.. All it takes is a phone call

Can't do that anymore.. It's either promote him or lose him. Teams aren't allowed to pay PS players extra.

Ah! Thanks for the correction DB.

I have it on the internetional GP(again), but only as option "to upgrade to"...and hell no I am not going to pay extra for something I have had already included in the previous years, FU greedy NFL

I wish there was a "Thank F'n god" emoji. I heard middle of the season a few weeks ago. Was shown a screenshot the other day supposedly from someone that works there that said 2nd-3rd week. Last night heard earlier.

Such an incredible tool. Absolutely should be available to the public. Imo it helps the game grow a ton.

The Ravens have had a Game360 on their website for 3 years now.. It shows EVERYTHING. Including the sidelines of opposing coaches calling in plays. It's why I laughed when the NFL penalized the Patriots again despite the fact that the Ravens do it every game..

Bill loves this front and has been building it back up in recent years. A few years ago it hit me when looking at the personnel - lots of tweeners LB and that has only continued with the Uche & Jennings picks. KVN coming back. Now look at all the big boys we brought in - God, Anderson and others. Getting Guy was actually a big piece to puzzle. He's definitely Bill's type for 3T and has played very well here. Typical Bill player.

Demarcus Covington is a name Pats fans should know by now. Arth connections. Young, smart, creative defensive mind that could have a bright future. Hired in 2017 from Eastern Illinois (Jimmy G) DC is a former WR (Samford) turned defensive coach. Specializing in DL/OLB. Has a background with the bear front.

The NFL running game and passing game for that matter is all about stretching you thin. Horizontally and vertically, teams are using more of the field than ever before. OZ has become increasingly popular and thrives off those double teams. This front makes it much more difficult to double inside.

Offenses today are all about angles. The "three inside tackle" look is really tough on tackles. Esp when running "TITE" - 4i 0 4i - "Bear" 3T 0/Shade 3T. You can play around with it a little bit. Most do. Stepping inside, small false step can ruin a tackles rep. Again it's all about steps and angles. Trying to get outside or double a 4i is a lot different and tough for most tackles.

These front really help take out athletic tackles and guards and force the offense to use the C in space more.

Bill loves using it vs big-time opponents. Right up his alley, aggressive C1 with press / bump n run. Like Ryan would walk down Plank, Bill would have Chung on los for more speed.

Again you can play around with it a little but basically bear is 3 0 3, tite 4 0 4. Allows you to be aggressive, send 5 for 1 on 1 across the board or drop 8. Very tough to double inside. Tough on tackles.

Just another tool and it looks like personnel fits to a T. Esp with Barmore coming from a slant system or asked to slant a lot. I wouldn't be surprised to see Guy 3T God 0 Barmore 4i to slice. We'll see. Again Judon was a huge signing. I think he'll be an unbelievable Pat. Helps us do a lot of things. Very smart and versatile.

Really excited to see all these guys come together. So much talent up front. If our secondary translates with no Gilly we'll be scary good.

Bear

Judon esp makes it easy to play with 43/34 principles
