OT: Did the Pats Consider Trading Brady Instead of Bledsoe After SB 36?

Just like Atlanta should of promoted Kyle and got rid of Quinn
How about the WTF losing both Shanahan and McVay?

What a joke! :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Living in PA I was telling fans as hard and difficult a decision they should of promoted Reich and let Pederson go.
Are Eagles fans the worst fans in pro sports?

I love this lazy argument.

Pats has a jumbo goal line package in, specifically to stop the run which is why Carroll passed.

Not sure how this ridiculous idea started that all seattle had to do was run the ball to win. They tried running it earlier on the game on 4th and inches at midfield, which is much harder on the defense because they can’t go goal line in that situation to 100% commit to run and have to be prepared for a pass, and they stuffed the “unstoppable” Lynch on the backfield causing a turnover on downs

but we’re supposed to believe Seattle was GUARANTEED a victory if they just tried running it right into the teeth of a goal line package defense lol

Seattle’s fluke catch is what put them in the position to begin with, they used up all their golden horseshoes and got shut down

Also in that post-season:

1.) The Cowboys got lucky against the Lions.
2.) The Packers got lucky against the Cowboys.
3.) The Seahawks got lucky against the Packers.
4.) The Pats got lucky against the Seahawks....even after the Seahawks had a BS TD just before half time on Logan Ryan (all he had to do was commit a PI), technically an illegal ref rub route to score against Revis, and then finally that stupid catch by Kearse.....

The football gods fixed that BS.

Among the idiots who call into talk radio? Absolutely there was. Even after Brady won the Super Bowl, some Bledsoe krishnas just couldn't let go.
Among the intelligent people running the Patriots organization? No way, Jose.
I can definitely see Berry trading Flutie and keeping Eason even AFTER Doug led us to the Super Bowl title in '88.

I've said it before but I have to say it again...tuckeverlasting is one of the treasures we have here at Patsfans...understated hilarity is such a lost art these days...thank you my friend

While I had no doubt that you keep Brady over Bledsoe (which hey, username, I'm a big Bledsoe fan), I was still a little concerned. Even at that point I knew of many QBs who had been great one season and then utterly failed within a year or two. There was some amount of risk for the long-term future of the team in trading Bledsoe.

Nope, KC Queefs fans are, followed by the Bal'mo' Murderer-Worshippers fanimals, then by Sh!tsdirt Squealers piss-stained toilet paper-wavers.

**** off you ****ing piece of sh!t...Your ****ing user name says all I need to know about you, mutherfukker.
Why because I like Hill?

Certainly the Pats have never employed anyone with a checkered past. Right???

Brady's accomplishments are off the charts, it's almost impossible for Mahomes to catch him. Brady also has important head to head victories over him in championship games at age 41 and age 43. Mahomes could be the second best ever, but Brady holds the GOAT honors forever.
Honestly I've thought this through.

In the end, I believe Mahomes will be a top 5 QB of all time.

Brady
Montana
Mahomes
Manning
Elway.

But...he isn't there yet.

I do not think it's possible for Mahomes to pass Brady. I do think Kelce's career could surpass Gronk. And there's a slight chance Reid catches up to Belichick. But it's unlikely.

What about Colts fans?

Kelce might pass Gronk on some receiving stats, but Gronk is the GOAT all around tight end. There is more to the TE position than catching the ball, Kelce is really just a bigger wide receiver because his blocking is trash

I agree.

Kelce sucks at blocking.

I'm unsure why they haven't worked with him to improve it. But oh well.

If Gronk didn't have injuries, he would be the undisputed GOAT of TE's. Lock for Canton. Though I think he's going to get in Canton.

The pass itself was bad is what I mean.

I think Seattle was caught off guard by the Patriots not calling a timeout.

As a side, how much heat does Belichick get if Seattle scores the game winning TD with 20 seconds left. With a timeout in his pocket?

That could've been disastrous for him.

I’ll always believe that was an unconscionably bad risk:reward decision by Belichick, despite it working out.

By all-time, do you mean a pop culture fan list that omits any player before 1980?

My friend Kevin gets on a rant and threatens to kill everyone lol the GM the coach the players he gets real detailed about it lol over the phone and I keep going bro this is a recorded line more than likely. I have to let it be known I don’t condone any of that.
But I mean Philly fans are passionate die hard fans they don’t bandwagon jump.
I was at the Patriots game a few years back there and I just wore neutral clothes lol. Some guy was walking around in Patriots stuff head to toe and had a fricking giant Patriot cape. He got his ass whipped but he was obnoxious. I would say the fans aren’t as bad as they used to be.
They will still yell and say terrible things but that’s part of the entertainment.
I find Pitt fans to be worse than Eagles fans.
I got to meet and hang out with some Eagles players years back I respect the team. Brandon Graham is like one of the nicest guys you will ever meet that strip sack of Brady in the Super Bowl for me was mixed emotions.
The city finally won one and Brandon was the hero.
That was the least upset I’ve ever been not furious like
The two Giants losses.
My friends recorded my reaction to the welker overhrow drop and they had it as their ringtone for months. and sent it to other people we knew for them to make it a ring tone.
I didn’t even know I was capable of making that noise.
it sounded like someone being gutted.

Mahomes has everything he needs to get to this inner circle of all-time greats. Fabulous understanding of the game, can make all the throws, has a cannon, is mobile but isn't a mad crazy dangerous scrambler. Dude is unreal. But to get to THIS level, he needs to sustain it over a very long period of time. Lots of things have to go right for anyone to get to this level.

Reid will never ever ever ever ever catch Belichick. Reid has one SB. BB has *SIX*, plus two more as an assistant. That one is ballgame over, period, end of discussion.

Kelce...that one is interesting. He's an amazing player, but no matter how good a pass-catcher he is (and he's ridiculously good at that), he'll never even come close to being the blocker Gronk is/was. So Kelce would have to be WORLDS better at receiving than Gronk just to make the overall TE package even. And I don't think he'll get to THAT point. But Kelce is an incredible player, no doubt about that.

Indeed, Mahomes is in the Manning/Elway category for me.

And none of them sniff my top ten all time. Top thirty maybe, which isn't bad.

Quick stat: NONE of them ever won a title that wasn't qualified in some way (officiating debacle, cheating, etc.)
