OT: Did the Pats Consider Trading Brady Instead of Bledsoe After SB 36?

According to Flutie, it was Ralph Wilson who chose Johnson over Flutie

John Butler was GM of the Bills. He signed Flutie.

Wilson made him sign Rob Johnson.

HC Wade Phillips loved Flutie.

Butler's contract expired after the 2000 season. Wilson didn't make him and offer and Butler didn't ask for one.

Butler joins San Diego as their GM in 2001.

Butler signs Flutie as their starting QB.

Robert Weathers spot on as usual. Pretty disgraceful that Flutie took the Bills to an 11-5 record and he got benched in round 1 of playoffs. Talk about zero loyalty and no respect for the guy. Flutie may have been small, but the man had elite clutchness, scrambling ability, and an underrated arm. Guy knew how to win

It's funny that you still think Mahomes can catch Brady after losing to him twice in the post-season. If the Bills win, Allen will have the same amount of rings as Mahomes. Lol

Brady defeated Mahomes in championship games at age 41 and age 43. Brady has 7 super bowls to Mahomes 1. Brady has every passing stat record or will soon. Brady has every postseason passing stat record. Brady has the most clutch performances in NFL history, several of them while mahomes only has 1.

They are not even in the same stratosphere

It's only going to get harder for Mahomes in KC once his mega contract kicks in. It's one thing when your star QB is making $5 million a year. It's another thing entirely when he's commanding $40 million and you no longer have the money to pay a bunch of other good players.

Okay... but NE COULD have kept Doug Flutie through his CFL championship years, instead of enduring the Wilson-Hodson-Millen parade of palookas.

Oofity-OOF-oof. :poop:
The Patriots never should have let Flutie go. I loved Raymond Berry, a terrific receiver and a good coach, who made a terrible decision to go with happy feet Eason, instead of golden footed Flutie.

It was downright disgusting.

Boocock is a name whose history dates far back into the mists of early British times to the days of the Anglo-Saxon tribes. It is a name for a proud or gaudy person. The surname Boocock is derived from the various Old English words pecok, pacok, pocok, pehen, and pohen, which all mean peacock.

Edit- this one beat the filters!

The Chiefs are creme puff Super Bowl Champs.

In the post season,, They are 0 - 4 versus Hall of Fame QBs and Head Coaches - losses to Brady x 2, Belichick and Arians.

When it gets real against the best, KC folds tent

Don't forget the indomitable Jeff Carlson

I had to go back and research this as I was very young at the time. I'm assuming Bledsoe was as good as gone once Brady was named the starter in the SB. But was there any discussion at all about trading Brady while his value was high? Thus, Bledsoe would remain the starter in 02 and beyond?

For the fan base, was there any animosity at the Pats for: A) Trading Bledsoe and B) Doing it in division? Or, was it pretty unanimous that Brady was the guy moving forward?

Looking back it seems like a silly discussion to even have. But at the time things might've been different.

Also, the fact they traded him in the division tells me they ultimately didn't fear playing Bledsoe twice a year. Crazy to think about.
No fckface

Why wasn’t Tyrek Hill released and blackballed from the NFL for admitting to beating his child and threatening the mother of his child?

Answer: Chiefs and the NFL drew the line with Hunt and losing Hill would’ve greatly jeopardized their chances of competing against the Pats.

TB is not better than us on offense. It's about 50/50.

Mahomes<Brady

Kelce<<< <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<,<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Gronk, like he always was and always will be

Hill<<<.Bucs Receivers. Because there's more than 1 of them. And you can't name a competent Chiefs receiver whose name isn't Hill.
FTFY

Mahomes>Brady

Kelce>>>Any TB TE

Hill>>Bucs Receivers.

But obviously TB has crazy good depth.

Either way, I like our chances against the inferior AFC teams.
This was pure comedy.

Eagles should have taken a look at the Brady situation and used it as an example before keeping Wentz over Foles. Foles isn't great but he worked in the eagles system.
Living in PA I was telling fans as hard and difficult a decision they should of promoted Reich and let Pederson go.
Just like Atlanta should of promoted Kyle and got rid of Quinn
