Sam Kouvaris: The Colts pipe in sound through their PA

They have been the Patsies since I was 10 years old, that was 39 years ago. They are my favorite sports team, actually my only sports passion. I use that term with reverence. It is a term of affection, if one can display affection for a spots team.

Ugh, I've never heard this before. Look up "patsy" in the dictionary, it will change your mind. It's the worst term you could apply to any sports team.

OK...which one of the Indy clowns is gonna tie Patsy Cline singing "You're Cheatin' Heart" into this discussion?

We could always come back with "Crazy". :D

Yeah, pretty much Patsy is an insult whether intended or not.

the thing is, words actually MEAN things. Words don't mean what you want them to mean, they mean what they mean. Admittedly, most people use words wrong, but that doesn't really excuse it. And just because someone doesn't know what the word means, doesn't make it less offensive when they use it. Actually, ignorance is usually equally or more offensive.

I always use the term "Pats" although I see Dolts used here alot, I just figure this is a pats board and if I don't like seeing Dolts then I shouldn't be here..

Very very clever!! I would give you big props even if it was anti Colts, just based on cleverness!! :)

Now that is clever, I didn't think of that..:D

I had to post that on the star forum giving you credit though

Sorry if you find it insulting, it isn't meant to be. They will always be the Patsies to me and it will never mean anything derogatory.

This reminds me of when a colleague, who was from India, didn't realize the Dean of our college was behind him when he called that dean an ***hat. He tried to save the situation by saying, but in my country ***hat is a term of respect.

Didn't work there either.

I think that this is a generational issue. For instance, if you heard an older person say, "we had a gay time." You would understand that they are not talking about gender. You would simply understand that they are saying that a good time was had by all.

The term Patsie is derogatory at the present time. But language changes. It was not a bad thing to say back when Grog's was slingin it.

The only problem here is that Gay is not a gender! LOL!

Please fill out the following information on your application

Male
Female

I've never seen any "Gender" other than those two...is it me?

LOL, who is this guy and what's his proof, wow let it go, hilarious?

It won't get the pick or 750k back.

or

Wait, hit it again its still moving... No I think its dead.... No hit it again.

Sam Kouvaris is the local sports guy here in Jacksonville. You know home of the Jaguars, a team in your division which he covers and has been to the RCA dome MANY times.

He is about as unbiased as they come, he is also thought of enough by his peers to have a vote for who goes into the HOF.

Sam is legit, he doesn't make unfounded claims that have no merit to them. Remember with the whole "spygate" thing, where there is smoke there is fire. The colts have been accused of piping in crowd noise by more than just one or two teams in the league.

It is only a matter of time so enjoy the "untainted" views of your colts SB "win" while it lasts.

I agree it is a dead issue in this case, but what if the Colts are found to have piped crowd noise through their PA system during games last year, this year or in the future. What do you think the penalty should be? Would that tarnish their championship?

I think they need an asterisk on their championship. Since that contributed to more wins at home, and gave them home field advantage for the playoffs. They barely held off the Patriots 38-34 at home, if they faced the Patriots at Foxboro they wouldn't even have made it to the Superbowl. It's obvious that their use of homefield 'noise' tainted their 2006 championship. :p

LOL, or at least I would say that just to get under the Colts fans collective skins. If you buy in that the Pats videotaping one game in 2007 tainted a 19-0 year, then you have to buy in to the above argument that the fake 'crowd noise' tainted the Colts 2006 championship season. I think that what the Colts did and still do with the crowd noise is dishonest and shows them to be hypocrites. How dare they declaim the Pats from the mountaintops when they are doing sketchy things in their own backyard??

If you had beat us in Foxboro in the first place you wouldn't have had to play us in the Dome for the AFCCG..

Pats had an easy schedule in 2006, and lost to Indy. We have nobody to blame but ourselves for not getting HFA in the playoffs. Heck, we didn't even get the bye, despite our weak schedule.

So we have no right to *****.

It's a non issue until its proven and punished, whoever says it and if it does get proven I won't defend, I'll be the first to say it was wrong. I'll have to give Sam the props he deserves from now on, I had no idea he is/was big time.

And I'll laugh at all the asterick talk, which all of the Pat fans should too, Dude there is no asterick anywhere and if other teams fans think there is, why would anyone care, it wouldn't tarnish one memory in my mind.

A dude in Jacksonville thinks the Colts cheat, awesome, how's that working for ya. A guy in Miami thinks the Pats ran up the score, great, how's that working out for ya!!

Also, where was his proof, didn't he just present it as if it was his opinion?

You guys are still talking about this ? Must be bored stiff LOL

Yeah I think Pats fans are bored this week with the bye week, they like bringing up something that as never been proven to entertain themselves. I myself if I was a Pats fan would be talking about the possible undefeated season or how bad were going to win our next game, but instead they decided to stay obsessed with the Colts.

Yes, that's almost as bad as being such a pathetic loser that you'd be a Colts fan and go trolling on a Patriots board during the week AFTER you'd just gotten beaten at home, despite horrible officiating and (quite possibly) cheating by pumping in crowd noise. Fortunately, people aren't such lowlife scum buckets as to be doing nonsense like that, especially when their beloved Colts had a game against the Chargers coming up.

Nobody lives that pitiful a life, though, thank goodness.

oh so your going to judge me and say im scum just because I come here? I have actually had some good talks with people here, I get the occasional person like you that decided to act like this but hey whatever gets you through the day

And the irony of someone calling Patriots fans obsessed while posting on their site AFTER their team has already lost to the Patriots continues to fly over the head of yet another Colts troll. How sad.....:(
