Official 2021 Cutdown Day Thread

He’s a goner. Had highlight plays vs. the Rams & Chargers last year including coverage on Keenan Allen.

No surprise to me. He was always on the bubble and injury did not help.

It will be more interesting to see if another DB trade is coming. Maybe they let J-Mac go a year too soon :)

There is only one FS on the team atm. Joju did step in at FS in second half but he is still liability at both positions. Mills and Wade could be an option as well. Bringing back Harmon would look nice atm..

Bryant isn't really a surprise with Mills a lock and them trading for Wade

I'm kind of surprised by this. Isn't he hurt now? I thought they would be IR'd then they would bring him back if there were injuries at the position. I think Asiasi might be involved this year especially because I expect so many two TE sets to be called this year.

I would love to see the Pats bring in outside help at receiver via trade today.
Hoping my binkie Asiasi has a good year and can contribute!!!

If JJ Taylor can return punts too he might not be as good but he also returns kicks and can actually play a little offense. There might be room for both but if all Gunner does is return punts he may not be as safe as you think.

I must be seeing something others aren't, because Taylor does not look comfortable reading the punts yet to me. I'm not ready to use him there full time.

Wait, he was still on the team? In 2 seasons and a training camp, did he ever see the field for more than 3 series?

I think he told Caserio, "Go get me more guys who play lacrosse." and Nick heard, "Go get me Matt LaCosse", and both were too embarrassed to go back on the mistake.

Most intriguing cutdown story to me is what they do with logjam at D line.

Davis played very well and id be surprised if they let him go although BB tended to be a bit tight with IDL roster spots.
Also Montravius Adams played well and would be perfect to keep at PS but some teams could have a spot for him..

Anderson was quite disappointing and Bower outplayed him every time. Theres quite some dead money but also savings if they cut Anderson.
Maybe they try to find a trade partner.

Winovich played a bit better but only late in games vs future cuts - there is a huge logjam at OLB so i hope they find a trade partner.

The run defense has looked like night and day whenever Davis is in there — this goes back to the regular season last year. I can’t possibly imagine he gets cut. The issue will be his staying healthy and the team being prepared to replace him when that happens.

I agree with you that I think Anderson is the biggest disappointment of the offseason. The guy was a run stuffer his entire career with the Jete. But when he was out there in preseason, he couldn’t shed his blocks. He just might be done unfortunately.

The only way any player can come back from IR is if they first make the 53 and THEN are placed on IR
