Why Mac Jones playing this year is important

It was stated the day he signed.

He is wildly inaccurate FOR AN NFL QB.
He is more accurate than me. He is more accurate than Julian Edelman. He is among if not the least accurate of NFL QBs.
The fact that you site “he wasn’t missing by 10 yards” as if that’s an endorsement says it all.

I am convince now that you are pranking me.

15 yard penalty for taunting!

An interesting case.
Now show me which QBs ever won as a rookie and also show me the long graveyard list of rookie QBs who played too soon and were permanently ruined.

.

Elway, Manning, Marino, Russell Wilson, Dak Prescott, Matt Ryan, Ben Roethlisberger….

More starts equals more success, rookie QB’s who start fewer than 4 games average 2.2 wins per season over their careers.

This comes from a long term study by Micheal Nania of SB Nation, August 2018, and the evidence is clear, rookie QB’s need to play substantial time in their rookie seasons.

Joe Flacco too......won 11 games with the Ravens and got to the AFC Championship game.

RG3 took the Redskins to the playoffs as a rookie as well.

In RGIii’s case it didn’t equate to long term success.

Thomas Mac Brady.

Just look at the stats.

Boy, you Mac polesmokers are hilarious. This 5hit is funnier than any NY Jets message board full of delusional fans pumping each other up.

This clown is not on Team Tom, and here's my official statement:

Team Tom is committed to the peaceful transition of Patriots quarterbacking excellence, despite our objections to the process and recent events. We are excited about the early progress of Mac Jones and look forward to seeing him on the field in 2021.

I cheer for the TEAM. PERIOD
If Cam is starting, I will hope he plays well.
If Mac is starting, I will hope he plays well.

I can see either of them being serviceable, with this OL, running game, and D.

The thing is, though, say we go 11-6, make the playoffs, and go 1-1.

During the course of that season, I would expect Mac to learn a lot and get better, if he were starting.
Cam on the other hand doesn't feel like he is on a learning/growth curve. He is what he is, and by contract it apears he will be gone in a year.

So maybe in the course of the season we get to the same place, but going with Mac as starter sets us up better for next year. You only learn so much carrying the clipboard.

Pats are not good enough to win with Cam as QB. Defense will get worn out in games because the opponents will get the ball too often and too quickly. They will also get the ball in good locations if Cam tries to do more with the throwing game. If you want a game manager - Mac is going to do a much better job. To make Cam work you need to take ten years of his age - and put in a Tebow style offense..

Cam was signed to a 1 year contract that makes him easy to cut, and at a time when we didn't know if we'd even draft a rookie QB, never mind have one like Mac fall to us. Basically Cam was signed so FAs had a name and a face at QB.

Cam is a mercenary, the more wins he gets in 2021 the better he does in 2022, but each win he gets lowers our 2022 draft position.

The only reason to not start Mac is if BB really, truly feels he still needs to learn more to be effective at the position, or if he feels starting him now will stunt his future growth.

Otherwise, all Cam is doing is stopping Mac's progress, and in turn the team's progress, because we all know Cam isn't the long term answer.
Time for a victory lap, lol...

I lost my mind after the Dreith robbery, and I've been looking for it ever since.
How fitting that the Raiduhs would come to Foxboro 25 years after the Dreith robbery and lose on a correct call that they think is a robbery. That's pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Thanks again Walt.

Coleman, I think, would/should respond, "I just did my job. I didn't let and make an avalanche of wrong and biased calls and noncalls to steal a game and award it to a team which did not earn it."

you did look at those numbers and realize Brady had more completions than Cam had attempts, yes?

Cam wasn't good. His 2020 number typify the saying "stats lie"... some numbers looked good when no other context is put into place... We all watched... he didn't pass the eye test... or the smell test... he might be a great guy, but as a qb, he stunk...

Cam basically only threw the ball when someone was wide open. The offense was geared to mask his deficiencies. Guy had multiple games where he threw less than 100 yards and had 8 TDs all year.

That's not good by any means.
