The joke will be on the Texans this year when Watson will not be able to play.

It suggests that Nick Caserio won't make a deal that BB wouldn't do or wouldn't like. Nick will do what's best for Nick, period. If he can get Watson out of town with a good haul, he'll do it. He isn't going to keep him out of AFCE just to please BB.The joke will be on the Texans this year when Watson will not be able to play.
Just pointing out the double standards between QB's and fans. A lot here wanted to break the bank (before the scandals) but never brought up his record. Which isn't a big deal bc of sample size, what was going on around him etc but again some here want to have it both ways.
How do you throw for 33 Td's, almost 5,000 yards and complete 70% of your passes, yet your record is 4-12?Houston is not so good in PPG. Ergo, Houston is not so good for overall record under Watson, even if take 2020 with a grain of salt.
Watson takes a ton of sacks.
Not saying he’s a bad quarterback at all, but I’m not sold he’s an elite one either.
Carson Palmer was a far better QB than Tom Brady his entire career. I heard that straight from the horse's mouth, Carson Palmer. How do you throw for 33 Td's, almost 5,000 yards and complete 70% of your passes, yet your record is 4-12?
This is a perfect example of how stats can be overrated and not taken into context. See the "Carson Palmer effect". If anyone doesn't know that reference, let me know. Some analysts know what that is.
Your boy Jimmy G thinks he's better than Tom Brady.Carson Palmer was a far better QB than Tom Brady his entire career. I heard that straight from the horse's mouth, Carson Palmer.
It's sarcasm. I say that to everyone that I know even though I have no idea if they like that player or not to see if I can get a reaction. My boy? Hitting the mushrooms early tonight, I see....
He had one good year in his career to date. Yes.
RGIII, Nick Foles also had one good year. It happens. Not sure how to respond to “like it or not”. I concede that he might be an excellent player. I’m not certain yet.
Agreed. Not only has Tua played only a handful of games, but last year he had almost no off season to learn the offense because of COVID and was coming off a very serious injury (career ending injury for most players). This guy was considered an amazing talent in college, finally seems completely healthy, and has really looked like a different player in the pre-season. Given the special circumstances last year, trading him now would almost be like trading a highly drafted rookie QB before the team even knows what they have (someone like Zac Wilson). I would argue that if Miami was anywhere close to giving up on Tua they would simply have drafted a QB last year with the #3 overall.
Making this type of trade if Tua sucks for another year or two might be more understandable, but this sounds crazy for Miami, who knows when (and maybe even if) Watson will play again. I know that teams can do dumb things (Exhibit A: Bill O'Brien Texans), but this seems beyond dumb for Miami. The source for this rumor has to be Watson's agent or the Texans, especially with all of the first round draft choices that are supposed to be going to the Texans.
Well, some may not agree, but if Miami sends Tua and 3 #1 draft choices (plus extra draft compensation) for Watson IMHO I think we Patsfans should be doing a happy dance.
Ummm...everyone slams the Patriots for their "not having weapons" and "cant draft skill position players" - if the Dolphins give away their next THREE first round picks (plus any other compensation) what exactly will they be surrounding Watson with?
That's like the frickin' Herchel Walker trade - get the superstar and then cant do much else with the roster to help him (plus the Cowboys go on to get Aikman, Smith and Irvin - plus others and win a couple titles).
Just measure everyone with the same ruler - that's all I'm asking.
Perhaps the rest of the team matters? How do you throw for 33 Td's, almost 5,000 yards and complete 70% of your passes, yet your record is 4-12?

While fun, « this site » is getting wackier and wackier. This same site had a thread about SF regretting passing on Jones cause he had a good week in practice
Tom Brady led a team with the worst defense in the league in 2010 to a 14-2 record. Also had bad defenses in 2011 and 2012 and they did pretty well.Perhaps the rest of the team matters?

#1 Watson isn’t Tom Brady. #2 no other qb is Tom Brady. #3 you can have a great qb, if the rest of your team sucks you aren’t going to win.Tom Brady led a team with the worst defense in the league in 2010 to a 14-2 record. Also had bad defenses in 2011 and 2012 and they did pretty well.
You can not have a stat line that Watson had and go 4-12.
Especially one who isn't likely to play again anytime in the near future, if at all. This is crazy talk man. You go get the franchise qb when you can
And how many of those signed long term for when Watson can actually play for them????Parker, Fuller, gaskin, Gescke, and good defense and a decent oline
