Love our defense.

Judon...Finally we get a pro bowl talent in his prime who can take over games..wow

Mac will be really good in 3 years.

Harry blows. Worst draft pick in franchise history. Fire our WR scout

Cam is fine for now..until Mac is ready

our Rbs are very legit

Hunter Henry..where art tho??

Bourne is a JAG

Meyers is a good number 2 WR

I've been thinking Davis and Anderson make it for most of training camp. But Anderson is looking shaky to me right now, so my guess would be either Adams or Spence. I have a hard time seeing Bower, Cowart, Muray, or Thurman doing enough to make it at this point, but honestly I'm mostly guessing once you get down to depth DL.

I think Anderson hurt his shoulder and maybe the Pats are being cautious about playing him? Can't imagine he does not make the team - we need the run stuffer.

Pats had 31 first downs Thursday. Granted It was a pre season game but team record is 35 first downs... Even against second stringers, it is impressive.
Were the Pats also playing second stringers? I know at QB they were, think also at TE & WR, how about other positions?

Also, from Morse, in his 15 observations post:

3) I would also like to debunk the reports immediately after the game that Philly didn’t play any of their starters and that’s why they got blown out. The fact is they held out their starting D-line and 3 O-line, most of which were over 30 (Older). The LB and secondary were all starters. The WR and RBs were starters. Unfortunately that Jalen Hurts got sick before the game and had to be checked out at the hospital. Joe Flacco and Nick Mullen were flat-out awful last night.

Perhaps our success in the running game was partially due to the fact that PHIL starter their second string DL, and gave their 3rd stringers lots of playing time.

That being said, our OL is top ten, and we have a fine set of four runners. And we even have TE's this year.

Herbert had an amazing rookie season, I think possibly the best rookie season ever for a QB. I was a huge Herbert fan for the 2020 draft (was a fan before that). I even said before the draft, that I felt when all is said and done, Herbert may wind up the best QB of that 2020 class, better than Tua, better than Burrow. Now, we are only one year in on that draft class, things can change. But I stand by my statement predraft 2020.

I don’t think Mac wins the starting job, but when it’s his time, I have a ton of faith in him.

Funny, I admit I was not a huge Herbert fan only because his college resume, although a winning one, the coaching and game plans just didn’t showcase the guy. Until the combine I had no idea how athletic he was. Has a cannon and can scramble with the best of them. His receivers were garbage but his oline was really good. He ended up lighting it up pretty good in the NFL except vs the Patriots who made him look like the rookie he was. Loved that. Thanks BB.

Good for him though in proving all the critics wrong.

Is it really caution when they play him in the 4th quarter of preseason games? Kinda seems like the opposite, giving him extra snaps to let him show why he signed that contract.

I think that Anderson needs the reps to better fit in to the defense. I'm sure that this is a disappointment to the staff.

Of course, Anderson will make the team. He is being guaranteed $3M, and may take some coaching work. But, I would expect that he is a good enough prospect to help this year and perhaps next.

They also didn't play Darius Slay, who is their best corner (though to be fair, we've been playing the entire preseason without OUR best corner). There's only so much you can glean from the results of that game, but they did exactly what you'd expect them to do in that situation: Dominate. I mean 35-0 with a yardage difference of like 300 yards is about as dominant as you can get. They held serve.

Also of note, we shouldn't glean TOO much from preseason games regardless of who plays. I feel like we've seen teams annihilate us in the 3rd game in the past (which should be as close to a regular season scenario as possible), and those teams have gone on to have terrible seasons while we've had good ones. It's all a building process anyway, so even if this had happened against the Eagles starters we should be happy, but not make too many assumptions about what it means.

I agree it is unusual playing him at the end of the game. Not sure why. At 30 years of age and in the league so long it is doubtful there is a lot of technique being taught. I agree he will most likely make the team. Don't think BB tries to justify his signings - he has cut a lot of guys he signed - there is no way every signing will work out.

And just how do you know this? He REFUSED to answer the question when asked, saying it's a personal health issue.
It’s within your right to not believe me, but I’ve talked with someone who works for the team that (unofficially) confirmed it. Fair to not care about that if you don’t want to, but I trust the info.
Correct, he hasn’t stated it publicly.

Cam looked great, but it is still troubling that the great-lookingness came with lots of time to pull back, pat, and otherwise wield, rather than throw, the ball. Game speed might be at issue because he is not that quick, efficient scanner of progressions they look for here. Speed getting (productively) rid of the ball will be that much more important full speed.

I like what I’ve seen from Judon too, but the overreaction from Patriots fans/pundits is so over the top right now it’d downright embarrassing. They’ve now played a couple of preseason games against a grab bag of starters/backups, going against a couple of terrible QBs who might be finished in the NFL.

I’ve seen posts saying Judon is playing at Hall of Fame level, steal of the offseason, tremendous bargain, etc. I’d like to see one meaningful game before declaring any free agents hits or misses.

2. Uche update: Promising second-year outside linebacker Josh Uche left Thursday's game after six plays, and it's unclear what sidelined him, though my understanding is it does not involve long-term ramifications.

Yeah, I agree. However, it isn’t as if he’s an unknown commodity. He was a beast in BAL & his skills seem to translate well in BB’s system, which should only augment itself in the season. I guess the best way to describe it is...yes, you see it, but you can also feel it.

Somebody come up with a reason you don’t start ya boy cam wk1.
