Velocity???????? Go wash your mouth out with soap right now young man!!! The narrative is "weakarmed, flabby turtleboy who can't throw more than 7 yards"...That is the company line here and YOU better stick to it...or else!!!
Not that we should read a ton into preseason games but the Eagles didn't play most of their starters last night. Cam looked okay...against mostly second string guys. So people talking about "a near-perfect night" are just pumping his tires. This also goes for Mac and his solid performance against even more scrubinis.
This is my take too. I don't think we learned much last night. Not only did the Eagles play their back ups, they were not even trying to compete but avoid injury. They basically treated the game like the 4th regular season game back when we had 4 and we treated it like the 3rd.
Same goes for our defense. Going against Flacco and his snapper with the bionic arm does not give me a lot of confidence either.
Still it was a good showing by us as we came to play.
Despite it being the preseason, anyone else finding this outcome strange given Eagles beat writers swore black and blue they were dominating the Pats in practices?
You talking about Florida/Bama? Either way, I was going to go to that game… until the school made masks mandatory for everyone in attendance. Masks in The Swamp in September, when that bowl can get up to 120? Hah. Good luck with that. Hope the hospitals have IV bags ready to go.
A healthy 2021 roster of weapons should create significantly more space for pass catchers than last year's no TE + no Speed WRs offense.
Establishing early that NE has deep threat capability should all but end the 7 in the box defenses that feasted on NE's 2020 inept passing attack.
If Josh can mix it up enough on all 4 levels.....RBs out of back field, real NFL TEs releasing from the LOS, Meyers and Bourne working short and intermediate, Aghalor pulling safeties with him deep..........Should be a 7000% improvement over last year.
Meyers just might have an 80+ catch season
Pretty impressed with how fluid a runner Bourne is
If OL can give sufficient time...and if Cam maintains mechanics....and if NE TEs can stay healthy........we might just have something here.
Lots of "ifs"..........but lots more hope as well.
22-0 baby.......including a sad Tompa and distraught Gronkateers in week 4......Pricelesssssss
(Yeah......beers + a preseason rout vs jaggy future bar bouncers = eternal hope................so what )

Boy, are you a Patriots fan. Good lord, how anyone can watch that game and come away with "we learned nothing" is incredible. They executed well, both QBs were throwing darts and hitting the dart board. The running game was in sync and executing beautifully. Judon is absurdly good. Winovich and Perkins looked good. Barmore looked strong in the middle. Heck, even JJ Williams played very well.
Just be happy.
And this idea that the Eagles weren't trying to compete...almost everyone on that field for them was fighting for their football life. Get out of here with that nonsense. The Patriots bullied the Eagles, plain and simple. Sure, many of their starters weren't in there, but that was a true beat down.
If you walk away from that game unhappy, I don't know what to tell you.
