I turned on Skip and Shannon this morning (I guess it’s because I hate myself ?), and the first subject they discuss is how weak Mac Jones arm looked last night. Skip saying something to the effect, “Mac’s arm looked much weaker than in college”, I immediately shut it off.

I don’t care what people say. He’s got a good arm, not a great arm. Certainly not weak. He played with a lot of poise, excellent knowledge of the offense, stood strong in the face of the rush and took punishment after delivering the ball. This is one of the toughest offenses to learn in the NFL, and he had command of that offense. Mac is gonna prove A LOT of people wrong.
I remember people use to criticize Brady’s arm strength. I also re all him chucking a ball 70 yards through the air in SB 42 on that last gasp try.

Mac seems to favor touch over velocity on throws that don't require max velocity, which I think adds to this perception. He throws a very catchable ball.

Tom's arm strength increased as he put on more muscle and his technique improved.

If you watch his last Michigan game vs ALA and some throws in 2001 to 2004 to 2007 the improvement in velocity is very noticeable.

Mac will never have a Josh Allen cannon but I fully expect he will pick up a few MPHs over the next couple of years

The problem with Cam now is that he was never a great passer, but he was an amazing athlete. He could rattle off a 20-40 yard run every game with ease (many times, several a game). He just ain't that physically gifted which makes him a mediocre passer and an above average athlete which isn't good enough to make a him a good QB.

I don't hate the guy. I just think he is ill suited for this offense and probably more of a back up at this point. Seems more like a fit for a team like the Ravens than the Patriots. I don't get why Belichick would want him over a Fitzpatrick or even Trubisky as a one year stopgap.
Yeah, I don't disagree but I would still prefer Cam over Trubisky and there's a reason for that. I don't know much about Trubisky, but Cam can still teach Mac invaluable qualities such as leadership. I know it doesn't seem important, but that is vital. Also, we did go 7-9. Its not great or anything but at least we didn't win 3 games. I agree Cam is in all likelihood done but I think his veteran presence can at least offer more than Trubisky....if he agrees to teach Mac.

I just threw Trubisky out there as an example of a pocket passer available. But I am not sure how much teaching Jones needs to be as a leader. Most of that stuff usually cannot be taught and either you are a leader or you aren't. And from what I can see and what I have heard from his teammates at Alabama, he is a natural leader.

Wow! Just watched the highlights. That kicker is damn good. That running back has the break away speed the backfield has lacked for years.

Also saw lots of missed/whiffed tackles too.

1) I'm glad QN missed the XP - keeps him from turning into a caulky little bastid (really I can't say roostery?). I'm sure BB is salivating tearing open a new one for that gaffe.

2) I am cautiously optimistic about Cam and am thinking he is going to be significantly improved this year, but I am really liking what I'm seeing from Mac - he looks like he's ready to start now (as many have said even before this game). With the "should've been caught or challenged," I think he was 16/19. We'll probably get an extended viewing of Cam for the entire 1st half against Philly unless BB is truly ready to have Mac start. I'm very excited for the now (even if we just squeak into the playoffs... ah f it 20-0) and the future.

3) Assuming JM stays, the law firm of McCorkle & Meyers is going to be a force to be reckoned with. 120rec/1200yds.

4) Hoyer led 2 TD drives, so he should clearly start.

5) Please no injuries. For the LOVE OF GOD.

Looking at the ST snaps is interesting (and telling in some areas). For example, N'Keal Harry played 0 while Wilkerson played 8.
And Fumagalli, Berry and Perkins (each 13) played more than anyone else except D. Virgin (20) and M. Jackson (17).

The question I would ask is why would you want Newton’s version of leadership taught? Outside of one season he has “led” his teams to records of 60-62-1 and 2 winning seasons of 8.
Every team has leaders, but wouldn’t you want to learn leadership from the guy whose method was successful?

I remember reading that, but contrary to "those people" Brady WON a QB distance/accuracy challenge post 2001 or 2002 season.
I miss this post season "games".

Is WTF the red headed step child of the NFL? They don’t even seem like a real team.

The entire god-damn punt unit outside of Bailey.
It was a Gunner/Gunnar issue. I don't think either Bethel or Slater played on the punt coverage unit and anyone not named Gunnar looked like that evening was the first time they'd practiced the skill of catching punts (which MIGHT have been the case).

QB challenge was the best.

A star is born.
There are golfers that really impress at the driving range but absolutely show nothing on the course, That's Harry, strong camp, show nothing during games.
