PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP Day 10 Training Camp Thread - Sunday August 8th

I'm really tired of this "hating" and "attacking" Harry crap.

Up to this point Harry has been a bust. It's a fact. It's not attacking or hating. It's an evaluation of a 1st rd pick who has done nothing at the NFL level for 2 years and has the gall to ask for a trade. He has not earned any confidence he will produce like a 1st rd pick because, well...he hasn't done it.

As an aside, Harry was projected anywhere between a late 1st rounder to a high 3rd rounder. He was never a universally -agreed 1st round prospect.

As I said to another poster yesterday, some players are late bloomers. Some players hit the ground running immediately. Some are busts. Some due to injury, circumstances out of their control or their own limiting behavior never meet their potential.

It's 10 practices. He's done very well. He's also had stretches in past camps in which he's done well and then got hurt, flamed out, etc.

Let's see how he does after a complete regular season in which he's broken through before we start being a little more optimistic he's going to have a solid NFL career.
I’m not saying Harry isn’t a bust. So far he is. BUT, can you show me where some prognosticators have him as an early 3rd round pick ? I never saw him rated anywhere lower than the 3rd best receiver available, and like I said, I even had one guide has him as the best receiver available. I always saw him rated as a 1st round pick, can’t find anywhere where he was rated even a 2nd round pick, let alone 3rd round pick.

It's all over the map.

I'm not here to say this site sucks and this site is good. Just saying multiple draftniks had him anywhere from top 15 to 3rd round. I'm not a draft guru but IMO the Pats picked him where is should have been selected- late 1st early/mid 2nd round. He isn't an elite WR talent but he absolutely has NFL-level strengths. Just gotta see what he does this year to justify optimism IMO

I hope he fails miserably. I’d rather be right on here than watch my team succeed.
I wonder if there’s people on here that really want to see that, just to prove a point.

I hate to burst your bubble here- first things first, I was at camp yesterday. I saw everything.

Sure he laid out for that ball, but it was in a one-on-one situation where he knew the ball was 100% coming for him, and he wasn't covered by an elite CB.

And I'm not sure where you get the idea that he's dominated anything. He disappears in the 11 on 11 and hasn't distinguished himself as a playmaker. He's also up to his old stuff, like pulling up short on a route or otherwise quitting. He doesn't fight for leverage. Yesterday I saw him pull up short on a go route in double coverage. The ball sailed over his head.

Sorry but I'm just not seeing any substantial breakthrough or transformation, but more importantly, consistency. As others have said, if we were going to see any substantial improvements, we would have seen it by now.
Funny how every single writer has seen something much different.

They saw those things in previous TCs as well. If you read some of the reports about his camps in 2019 (pre-injury) and 2020, you’d come away thinking we have the next Jerry Rice on our hands. Then game day happens and a he takes a massive **** on the field in the few occasions where the ball comes his way.

Show us some of these glowing reports that talk about how he's stacking successful practice on top of sucessful practice.

I think there were glowing reports his rookie year before he got injured. I do not remember much positive last year.
In a perfect world he was largely set back by the injury and it damaged his rookie year and last year the lack of a QB held back the progress.
I am hoping that’s the case and he has worked out those issues but we will have to see.
The people who seem to be rooting against him perplex me.
