Patriots place Dalton Keene and LB Raekwon McMillan on IR.

I really wanted Adam Trautman or Harrison Bryant. .

I don't think either averaged even ONE catch per game. One had 178 yards, the other 238. Perhaps they would have been better choices. Perhaps not. In any case, neither was a star last year.

Hopefully Asiasi can be a weapon as TE 3 this year.
Agreed.

Time will tell. Maybe he will be a better #3 than Trautman or Bryant, perhaps not.

In any case, I think that Belichick would have signed the two TE's he signed this offseason no matter which of three we drafted.

Nice post. My guess is that Asiasi will turn out to be the best of the bunch. Just a guess.

I just hope we don't have an injury type season. Odd numbered seasons are bad for us with injuries for some reason.

I realized when I commented that you like to be argumentative with your responses. Am I psychic? No. Can I read his mind? No. You got my there - you are right.

I said Raekwon signed a "nearly minimum contract" if you read my post (before you get angry). $1.15M versus $920k is nearly the minimum IMO. Either way, 32 teams were not knocking down the door to sign Raekwon after he was a FA following the completion of his rookie deal.

And Bentley was calling out defensive signals early on too - your mistake -

"Overall, the Patriots have used three men to call signals this year: veterans Dont’a Hightower and Kyle Van Noy, and ROOKIE Ja’Whaun Bentley."

Let's not exaggerate how clever someone is to call some defensive adjustments. Raekwon is probably a good backup, maybe a specialist - that is all. Still makes over a million a year so it pays well.

So, you think that your misquoting me and my correcting you is my fault and makes me argumentative? SMH.

- 25% over minimum isn't "near minimum". Also, there are only 31 other teams, not 32. McMillan signed during the first week of free agency. You are acting like it took him until the start of camp for him to get a contract signed. Still waiting to see how you know other teams didn't send him a contract offer and that he chose to sign with the Patriots after mulling his options. Lack of evidence is not proof of your claim.

-I love how you provide a quote without a link and pretend it supports your claims. Well, I found the quote. It was from a PatsPulpit article from the middle of NOVEMBER of Bentley's rookie year. How, exactly does that make what I said a "mistake" when it states that Bentley only called the plays ONCE. During Game 3 of the season before being injured?? Last I looked, Game 3 isn't the same as Week 1 of Training Camp.

How can you claim not to be Psychic and yet you state that all McMillan will be is a "good backup, maybe specialist"? I seem to remember people saying the same about Kyle Van Noy and Rob Ninkovich (especially Rob) when they were brought on.

Love your passion and loyalty. Go get 'em Bulldog.

...I think he could make an impact at LB, but can he play special teams?

I think that you have it backwards. IMO, he can play special teams, but not LB.

Yep, Fred has it completely backwards...Straight Cassh is NOT an NFL LB, or even an NFL player; Raekwon McMillan is...Re-signing Malulu was simply lazy & uncaring pro-personnel work.

We are a Worse team today than we were 3 days ago.

KJ Wright needs to be signed, like yesterday.

And it's time for Bill & the New Minions to break out the Rolodex and get updates on vets such as Tyler Eifert, Demetrius Harris, Virgil Green, Deon Yelder & Trey Burton...

The odd-numbered-year injury curse is striking again.

That was a name that surprised me was still on the FA list. Why isn't he signed. He was a pro bowl LB for years. Has his game slipped that much? You would think that on the surface, he would HAVE to be an upgrade over Jennings and Bentley. Right Capt'n? But the fact is that there has to be a reason what he's still unsigned. Either his game is gone, OR he still wants to be paid like an All Pro LB. and everyone knows he isn't one any more.
