I should go with the “everything is bad” and “everyone sucks” model so I can fit in.
Or you could have a brain and realize Todd Gurley was a better running back than Sony ever was or will be.

10th overall pick, all we have to do to tank and we can get a better class of RB to breakdown in year five.

Or just pick one the 7th round who can do what Sony does.

Michel and Harry for Stafford and Kupp Sweet deal, makes total sense for all involved!. I would do Michel for Donald straight up but I’m trying to be sensible about it.

Why the rush to get rid of Michel? I could see a need to move him back in the depth chart but the first rule of running backs is you never have enough running backs. We just lost Burkhead this offseason, White's getting older, and none of the new guys has multiple years experience under their belts. There's a place for Michel here.

Besides if we trade him now you know damn well we're selling low. I want to see him out there with 2 good TEs instead of 0 good TEs and see if he can rebound.

If I'm Belichick I let Michel play out his contract here and see if he's up for a platoon RB contract going forward.

At a certain point you just need to forget the first round pick and just assess the guy as he is now. and the guy we have now is useful. Which is the only consideration that should be made. Despite an injury shortened campaign he had the best yards per attempt of his career and the best catching % of his career. There's a lot to like here, and it's not like Damien Harris is a household name.

Depth is no bad thing and an RB stable of Harris, Michel, White, Taylor and Stevenson is an above average RB group. Without Michel it's a pretty green group.

So one ring, and 3 good post season games makes Sony a better RB? Your takes are so bad I just don't even know what to say.

He makes me think of this.

Fuzzy Wozzy wasn't fuzzy
No, by gosh, he wasn't, was he?…

Let me explain….

Sony hasn’t justified the first round pick that they spent on him (actually, he did as rookie) so “let’s dump the bum for a day 3 draft pick who has a 20% chance of being an eventual steady contributor”.

Why would they want to hold onto a vet who knows the offense and has shown that he can be a (non-elite) starting-caliber early down running back at the NFL level, at an oft-injured position, with an OL built to maul opponents in the run game?

Why the hell are we comparing a guy who went in the top 10 to a guy who was drafted at the bottom of the first round?

The correct response to someone claiming Gurley is better than Michel, is somewhere between "do you usually get off on stating the obvious?" and "what the hell does that have to do with the price of tea in China?"

Gurley is a 1-10 guy. Michel is a 1-31 guy. The two do not compare directly in any way, shape, or form.

We didn't draft Michel to be Gurley. We didn't draft Michel instead of bringing in Gurley. They didn't go in the same year. Nothing we could have traded that pick for directly, or Michel for directly, would have netted us Gurley.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to compare Michel specifically to specifically Gurley. It is an utter non-sequitur.

There’s a weird phenomenon going here at Patsfans.com. Find a position the Pats are potentially strong at, then trade some guys to weaken that position.

Honestly 3 years into Michel's career the last thing we should be assessimg him on is draft status. That's what you use in the absence of real boots-on-the-ground experience, which we've seen 3 years of. 2 of those have been very good including the one where he scored the only touchdown in a Superbowl win.

I disagree.
Sometimes his logic is very fuzzy.

Nobody did, somebody used Gurley as a cautionary tale as to why you don’t throw a ton of resources at the RB position. Some people can’t have a nuanced conversation.
