Who do you want to see win this battle?

Indy is 2 games back since we have the tiebreaker edge of head-to-head so it makes it an interesting discussion of whether you want to see Indy or SD win this week?

SD with a loss puts them at best a #6 seed with 5 losses already and could potentially put them in danger of missing the playoffs if Cleveland and Tennessee continue playing well.

Indy with a loss pretty much eliminates the chance to get HFA if NE would hit a pothole down the road,no one really mentions this but with an Indy loss and a Tennessee win Indy would only have a 1/2 game edge in the division with another upcoming clash between the teams since Indy won the first matchup.

I'll go with the Chargers in this one. Add insult to injury.

I'm rooting for Indy b/c the Chargers are full of self-absorbed, loud-mouthed pricks-I'm just laughing my tail off how Norvo the Clown is putting the nail in this coffin. A loss by the Chargers should put that FINAL nail.:singing:

Chargers. And I want them to beat the hell out of Indy physically.

Colts. Pats are more likely to run the table with the Colts breathing down their necks.

hmmm, tough one....

I'd like to see the Chargers beat the Colts just because I like to see the Colts lose.

HOWEVER, I think it would be advantageous for the Pats to have the Colts in the rearview mirror to them focused on each game because losing HFA would be a consequence. We don't want to end up like the Broncos of 1996 when they played their last meaningful game in November before the playoffs.

Even with that being said, I still want the Chargers to win.

colts. Chargers are too loudmouth.

Easy call, Colts lose.

Whine Manning, whine.

Well, LT you aren't much better but your team is going no where. Norv. Good luck.

Without question I'd rather see a Colts loss. I'd personally like to see the Patriots with a two game lead over the Colts, before NE even has to play another game. Also, let's say the unthinkable happens and NE drops a game or even two this season. They'd still have the head-to-head advantage over the Colts, so with a second Colts loss it would mean NE would have to drop 3 of these final 7 games before Indy gets HFA.

Who to root for: Colts/Bolts

Curious as to the group's thoughts...Obviously I hate the Colts and if they lose I would be happy...

But the Colts are going to be in the playoffs no matter what, and while we already destroyed the Chargers, there are plenty of other teams I'd rather see the Pats play in the divisional round (Chiefs, Broncos, Titans, Jags, etc).

The Chargers always have some in-fighting, they have a tough schedule coming up...I think it's definately possible that this is a last stand game for them...If they beat the Colts, then I could see them winning 10 or maybe even 11 games easily, but if they lose, I could see them completely folding.

The Colts will be the 2 seed, the Steelers will likely be the 3 seed and they'll play in the divisional round...But who will the Pats play? I'd prefer to avoid the Chargers...which begs the question...who to root for on Sunday?

Edit: didnt' see the other thread about this exact subject...sorry mods. Please merge or delete.

I'd rather see a Colts loss of course.. can't bring myself to root for the Chargers over them though.

Hold my nose and root for the Chargers.

What I care about most is the one seed in the playoffs. If Indy loses again, they would essentially be 2.5 behind the Pats. That would leave only the Steelers and the Titans as competition for the one seed, and the Pats would control their own destiny viz. the Steelers since they play each other.

Bottom line, barring the Titans finishing the year at 8-0 (which would give them at the least the 2 seed over everyone, I think), a Chargers win means the Pats would only need to go 5-2 to lock up the one seed, so long as one of those wins was against the Steelers.

Chiefs, Titans, Jags any day but I would rather face the the Chargers than the Broncos. I know the Broncos are playing rather poorly (understatement, I know) at the moment but historically we do not do very well against them. Also, Belichick seems to have an impressive record against teams he's facing for the second time in one year. If memory serves, and it doesn't always, the team that beat his streak of always winning the second contest was the 05 Broncos, to whom we lost in Foxboro during the regular season and then again in Denver in the Divisional Round of the Playoffs.

i'm rooting for the chargers.

the colts losing just makes everythng taste sweeter, air seems fresher.
And knowing polian is pounding a table somewhere comforts me.

The chragers will feel bad ass after winning but the chargers ego is like a balloon. Easy to inflate and even easier to pop.

If you are afraid to play against a Norv turner coached team, then you truly are not a Patriots fan.you could give the Dolts Randy Moss and the Pats would still destroy them:rocker:

Re: Who to root for: Colts/Bolts

Of course you root for the Chargers. A Colt loss and Titan win puts them even for the division. What would be sweeter then to see the Colts as a wild card. By the same token, not that I like to see the Jets win, but if they did put together a little streak (highly unlikely) it would move us up a notch in the draft, and that would piss everyone off.

Re: Who to root for: Colts/Bolts

I want the Chargers to win. No matter what they do from here on out, I know that the Pats can beat them, anyplace and anytime. I'd like to see the Colts get destroyed though, and yeah, I'll admit that a large part of the reason is because I still think that they're the only team with a good chance to beat us. The Pats are obviously better, and anyone who doesn't think that that was proven last week is an idiot, but the Colts are still a danger.

Colts... makes the Pats win look better. If a team as crappy as SD can beat the Colts, I'll have to hear all the idiot media-types saying the Pats maybe aren't the best then.

Gotta hope for a colts loss, for the same reason some of you gave I want a good lead on home field advantage.

Go Colts. The Colts are worthy of a win. The Chargers think they're entitled to a win so screw 'em. That being said, I'm sure some Charger fan will tell me how wrong I am.
