Mods...questions about the 2021 draft threads:

I forget how it works around here. I assume that there will be a "GDT" thread for the 1st round only. Then separate threads for each prospect/round?

Will the Mods be setting up said threads?

Just asking in advance so we don't have multiple threads merged tomorrow.

And @Ian, I assume that the server is all primed and ready to deal with a heavy load tomorrow? Will we break some visit/hit records?

We'll have threads broken down by day, which we've done in past years along with individual threads on those players. That's always worked well, so that's what we'll keep doing and hopefully we'll be good.

And yes, server should be good to go. I don't know about breaking any records, but I think it should be a fun time

It will be about the same as any of the 103 days that the Patriots lost a game over the last twenty years.

Think it will be an exciting time regardless of which way the picks go and who is chosen , I am actually as interested on how the team selects the lower round picks as much as the earlier rounds.

I maybe tempted to leave the bedroom window open so I can hear the sonic boom when the first Pats pick is announced.

Really looking forward to it, usually there is an"official draft pick thread"...can be started by anyone, not necessary a mod. The biggest issue that we've have in the past is posters posting picks before it is announced on tv...that has gotten some posters angry who like to watch the draft on tv.

Second biggest problem is when the person who starts the thread is blocked/ignored by most of the board so they don't see the thread and then another gets created.

I have seen many trade down scenarios. If the QB's and CB's are gone, I suspect a trade down.

The more appropriate question is - what would it take for this board *not* to go into meltdown?

- trade up for a QB — meltdown over QB taken, over price of trade.
- stand pat and QB comes to them — meltdown over taking the QB instead of other top talent
- stand pat, QB comes to them, select other position — server crashes
- stand pat, all top QBs are taken — meltdown over BB ignoring QB position
- trade back -- meltdown over missing the 1st opportunity we’ve had in over a dozen years to select a top 15 talent
- trade back with a QB still on the table - server crashes for the entire night
- select safety with 1st round pick — server refuses to host site for fear of life

What possibilities have I missed?

BB waits till we're on the clock, then calmly puts out pictures of the top 5 players remaining on his draft board, puts a dog treat on each, watches which one Nike goes for first, and picks that player.

There will be many records set if Moehrig is taken at 15.

Pfft, y'all don't give @Ian enough credit. There's a lot of terrible websites out there, this one has worked well on mobile/pc for a long time.

A draft following a 7-9 season won't be taking down Ian's server.
