Patriots cut Edelman(Update- EDELMAN RETIRES)

Hating? ************. Just saying I would have liked it if they had done an announcememt or something first. Lighten up dude. It is very mild criticism at worse.

"Pretty ****ty way to let a franchise great go."

right

With Tom Brady under center? No ****ing doubt.
Reality may have something to say about that:

Note that Tom E did JE11's biograpy, he presumably has inside info.

Pats should sign Edelman to 1 day contract so he can retire a patriot!

LOL at anyone here whose immediate thought was that Jules is going to end up playing for Tampa this year.

the bucs have less than 2M cap space left.....and still have the draft......the value won't be there for him

I do wonder if he could perhaps come back just for the postseason since it means a limited # of games. But at that point he'd have no chemistry with whoever is at QB, unless it's Cam.

Sad day. Loved Edelman and what he brought to the team but I think most of is saw this coming.

Good news is now he can sign with Tampa. ( I am not 100% buying that he was cut because of a failed physical)

Thank you for the memories Jules. Meant a lot to this franchise and its success. All the best

Mad respect for Jules, all the best. Having said that we're in 2021, its a new decade and the team needs new blood.

I am. I think the writing was on the wall after the word got out about not being able to play a full season. Doubt any NFL team including Tampa would be interested.

Sorry but the inevitable happened. What a remarkable career. What a mench.

I would love to see him stick around in some capacity with the team. Troy could probably use an assistant. Maybe he could take Tippett's place in the FO.

AND maybe he could hang around the team for long enough that he can come back and play a few games at the end of the season. Most likely the scenario will be the one that he gets his medical insurance money.

Second only to the immortal Jerry Rice for playoff yardage. He won't get a yellow Jacket, but he WILL get a red one
