The Perfect Fit - 4 Teams Desperate For A QB and 4 Top Picks In The Draft

We potentially have our 3 best secondary guys leaving next year. QB, yes that is a higher priority. WR? It would be great to have a #1 type, but we are going to a MOF TE type running and passing offense - a #1 WR is not a 1st round need, IMO. DT and LB - we just signed multiple DT and LB guys with only Hightower as a critical player potentially leaving next year. Secondary is on a more critical path than WR, DT or LB following the flurry of signings in FA.

If you think WR, DT and LB are 2021 drafting priorities following the FA signings, I think you are going to be very disappointed on draft night(s).
Priorities are QB, QB, QB, CB, OG, OT, OG

One thing everyone is forgetting. Last college football season was a glorified practice. No noise or opposition fans. No fired up defense. I wouldn’t put much into stats. Same is true of NFL. 2021 is going to be an eye opener for some of these qb’s.

I got R. Slater - T - Northwestern and
M. McNeil - DT - NC St. Got Kellen Mond at 96. He’ll be as good as Lance or Fat Mac

I don't see WR on that list.
Those are draft priorities. I believe that Belichick should NOT be drafting wide receivers in the first 6 rounds.

or bb takes the can’t miss layup and drafts waddle in the first round!

Potential path to jones

Jacksonville - qb lawrence
Jets - qb Wilson
San Fran - qb lance
Atlanta - wr pitts
Bengals - - ot sewell
Miami - wr chase
Detroit - lb parsons
Carolina - qb fields
Denver - ot slater
Dallas - cb surtain
Giants - wr waddle
Eagles - wr d smith
Chargers - cb horn
Vikings - de rosseau
Patriots - qb Jones
I see SF taking Fields rather than Lance, but who knows. Picks 4 thru 7 should be non-QB as you have it. Pick 8 to Carolina would be Lance, with only Mac Jones left and no other team from 9 to 14 desperate for a QB. It's not just that they're not desperate, it's that there's so much top talent to pick from. Why should Denver pick Mac Jones when they already have a decent young QB and could take Waddle?

But if we sit back and wait till 15 I think we could get swooped by WFT or the Bears. We'd be wise to move up to trade with the Giants (11) or Eagles (12) for a 3rd and/or 4th rounder. They should be willing to trade cause there will still be top players available at 15, unlike if they trade down to 19 or 20.

SF isn't picking Lance at 3. He's a year away from starting, if then.

If SF thinks lance is just a year away from being a legit starter, picking him at #3 while keeping JAG around for the season would seem to make a great deal of sense.

SF can pick Mac, Justin, or Trey.

My 2cents is NOT Mac. Reason? Who is likely to pick him? Patriots is the most likely. Which means all SF needs is to move ahead of them.

This narrows to Justin or Trey.

Justin has more games played than Trey (1yr wonder) and Justin plays in a tougher conference than Trey. Justin is also more polished than Trey.

So, it stands to reason that SF will select Justin as #3 pick.

Now, the Panthers or Falcons probably will select Trey. Which leaves Mac. I doubt Panthers or Falcons will pick him.

So, Mac drops to the Patriots, if they want.

Do you have any idea how many times I have read about can’t miss wr’s in the 1st round who have been complete busts? Thinking a wr is great doesn’t mean he will be.

I have been consistent in saying I think Jones will be gone by 15. I also think some posters are undervaluing him. Having a much higher floor then at least two of the other top 5 prospects is something teams don’t overlook.

If by some reason Fields should drop far enough for BB to make a trade at a reasonable cost, I'd like to see BB take one of the elite LBs that may be on the board. The cost of the QBs would be crazy and that cost would be insane if the pick is a bust.
A move like that would set-back the rebuild for 5 years.

After watching Mac Jones overthrowing receivers, Shanahan and Lynch must have been asking themselves “How much did we give to move up???” Too much.

They gave up too much no matter who they're chasing.

Clearly where ever he read that from, didn’t have much more info detailing what it actually meant
It's embarrassing and pretty obvious at this point. Kind of weird too.

Which of the QB's in the upcoming draft can be a leader who can motivate & inspire teammates?

From a NE reporter:

"Not only was Brady crucial to the Patriots’ offense, but he was also a pillar for their culture and locker room morale.
The three-time MVP treated every practice like a playoff game and his teammates evidently followed in the footsteps of this perfectionist mindset."
