Deshaun Watson accused of sexual assault in lawsuit

Watson is in a position of his own making. Either he did it, or allowed himself to be in a position to have these 20 accusations to even seem plausible. The level of ignorance to be even possibly involved in that many situations is astounding.

Yeah, because the NFL is only concerned with facts and evidence and not how the public winds blow....:rolleyes:

Wow. Just wow.
Way to quote without context.

When someone sets themselves up for failure how bad are you supposed to feel?

The dude at the very least is hitting up a bunch of woman on Instagram looking for happy endings. He is doing so in the midst of a MeToo movement.

The not so happy ending to his adventures was all too predictable.

You literally said “I can’t feel bad for him, even if he is innocent.”

There is no context possible that would lighten how despicable of a comment that is.

There’s a long way between seeking out sex workers and rape. If he’s guilty, throw the book at him. Put him in jail. Suspend him permanently.

But the mindset of someone like you who would have no problem doing all that anyway even if he is innocent is everything that is wrong with this country.

Like I said before.... it’s guilty until proven innocent, and even then you’re still guilty.

Let's keep politics, race, etc. out of this thread, please. I'm reopening it because it's a topic that will remain relevant until it's resolved but it devolved badly and I'd like to get it back on track.

Make him spend a long weekend in a remote cabin (with no internet access) with Deus, Captain Stone, Biffins, NG Pats Fan and Venecol. That’s admittedly straddling the 8th Amendment line but he will certainly learn his lesson.

Couldn't agree more on seeking sex workers and rape.

I haven't seen a single accusation of rape though. If that is being floated then I take back my comment. Misdemeanor sexual misconduct is not the same as felony rape. And too this point that's all I thought he is being accused of.

The only real penalty facing Watson is some lose of cash.

Now if he was falsely accused of rape and sent to prison for that, but was innocent, then I would feel bad for the guy.

But having his name thrown through mud and lose of income, for a multimillionaire, over poor decision making is not something I'll ever feel bad about.

Theoretically, all he needed to do to be in this position is have enough money to be worth suing.

Reminder: the accusers haven't even submitted affidavits yet. Until at least that part happens, we still have zero evidence submitted. When that does happen the affidavits will be a matter of public record and we'll learn a lot more about the case. I'd like to think we can withhold judgment long enough to learn precisely what Watson's being accused of, beyond mere rumors and the grandstanding of the lawyer.

He's technically not being accused of any crime at all. At least not yet. Apparently it's still true that 0 of these women have filed police reports even though, if they knew their stories were true, that would be the obvious first step towards laying down a paper trail to prove their case. Buzbee has to know that and I just wonder why it has not been done.

Several of the court filings mentioned he used physical force on the masseuses to provide oral sex against their will. I mentioned earlier in the thread that forced oral sex is actually not legally considered rape in all 50 states, and I have no idea what Texas law is. AFAIC it is rape, even if not technically legally so in some states.

Fair statement.

Buzbee’s latest Instagram post said he hasn’t filed with HPD since opposing counsel’s son is a Commander with the HPD.

He has said he would file with “other” authorities.

So, what are you waiting for, Mr. Buzbee? Get a move on and file with this “other authority” if your evidence is that strong. It has been more than two weeks and he’s known all along who the opposing counsel is. Sounds like he is stalling, possibly in hopes of Watson deciding to settle (which seems unlikely).

I don't get it...the masseuses were in Atlanta...what does that have to do with Houston?

This guy is a clown! No way that Commander gets anywhere near this case. Everyone who works in law and law enforcement knows about conflicts of interest, no way he gets anywhere near this case.

Here is the biggest problem he has with going to the police, It's an actual crime to file a false police report! All of these "actions" are well within the statue of limitations, if Watson did do any of this, it would make your case so much better to file a police report and let them investigate it for you (for free!).

"other authorities" HPD has jurisdication. Where is he going to file? the World Court? the UN? its getting tougher and tougher not to look at this guy as a clown.

I hope in the end Watson ends up owning his house after he sues him for defamation! Then Watson can have cookouts with his neighbor Cal (not Hal) McNair!

I think almost all were from HOU. He flew one in from ATL. He may have had other massages out of state but my understanding is the bulk were in HOU.

There is no case for defamation unless this lawyer hired these woman to make up statements.

All these woman did have contact with Watson, and it can't be denied he got massages from them.

If the accusers fail to prove it, it doesn't mean Watson isn't somewhat guilty of what's being accused, it just means he couldn't be found guilty.

He could be entirely innocent but that's impossible to prove unless each accuser has evidence showing they intentionally lied and that there is evidence the lawyer was aware of it.

See if you want evidence to convict Watson, you need evidence to convict the lawyer and accusers.

If Watson is fully innocent, the only thing that will help Watson is time and being free from future scandals. Like Kobe Bryant.

that's..... not how jurisdiction works

If you want the $2,000 then lick my balls, otherwise it's $75 for a massage?

Degrading and most likely the scenario. Not rape.

Also, who would force oral sex against the other person's wishes. All they have to do is bite down and you are done.
Interesting that the suit contends Watson tried to contact other masseuses he used through intermediaries, and his attorney only denied he contacted them personally.
Also this is the first report I’ve seen where he asked her to massage the inside of his anus

That didn’t work for Andy dufresne

Again, until these accusations clear ANY kind of evidentiary hurdle I for one am treating them like creative writing assignments. Especially because they get more and more graphic as the case drags on and no actual evidence is presented. It's like this whole thing is being written by a very, very bad slashfic author.

If the case continues in this vein, long on sensation and very, very, very short on evidence, I think Watson's going to beat it in a walk.
