Update: 5-year old girl involved in Britt Reid accident awakens from coma

Why haven't the lab reports come out after 7 weeks? Why hasn't he been charged? Are they waiting until after the draft?

The lab reports are hanging out with the ball measurements from the 2015 season.

"It's more probable than not that this wasn't Tom Brady and therefore we don't give a shyt"

They took his blood when he went to the hospital, so there will be definately proof one way or another. Being that he hit a parked car on the side of the road, on an on ramp. I'm gonna go with, yeah, he was drunk.

If you look at where the accident happened in relation to Arrowhead, there are not bars anywhere between the accident site and Arrowhead. So unless he doubleback to the stadium after getting ****faced, he was drinking at the stadium

Also keep in mind that family's lawyer said she has permanent brain damage, not the doctors. So take that for what its worth.

If Reid was drinking at the facility, the Chiefs are on the hook and this will cost them. They might even lose a 7th rd draft pick.
Update Dan Wetzel steals all of my conclusions and post them in an article.... (no credit to me of course) Reid has now been charged with felony DWI

Where was Britt Reid drinking before his alleged DWI? The Chiefs and the NFL owe the public an answer (yahoo.com)

His BAL came back waay over the limit as I pointed out (and Wetzel stole), the only logical place for Reid to have been drinking is the Chiefs facility.

The Chiefs are going to have to answer these questions, although I hear crickets in the national media demanding answers!

Who cares where he has been drinking? He is a grown man and must take resposibility for his actions.
The Chiefs organisation is not his babysitter, so i dont care if it was there he have been drinking.
i hope this D... is going to Jail for a Long time! It Is unforgiveable what he have done

It does matter where he was drinking. An organization has a responsibility for its employees to seek help. If the organization is responsible, then then they will be liable, that means life-time care for the child and the family. Britt Reid is going to jail and will serve time. It is a sad day for all parties involved.

If the Chiefs provided him alcohol and facilitated a culture of drinking on company premises they are now partially responsible.

State of MO has precedent in which a bar was sued and lost in court for over-serving a patron who caused an accident.

I'm willing to bet in order to keep this out of the media they'll settle with the family out of court.

Does Andy Reid get suspended if he knew about the drinking at the facility? It has to be akin to Sean Payton knowing about what Greg Williams was doing. Dock them a first round pick and a year's suspension for Reid (you know this would have already been handed down to BB if Stevie boy did this!)

Not sure if they can demonstrate Fat Andy has operational/policy control of the org. I would assume various people under Mark Donovan/administration org have some level of culpability.

This. especially given his history. and especially especially if he was getting into a car to go home at the end of the day.

Where he was drinking - and the circumstances surrounding that - will have a big impact on the potential legal liability of the team.

Also, in the circus court of the NFL which does nothing but blow with the public winds, it would also impact any potential punishment to the team.

If he goes to jail I can’t wait for all the takes about how inspiring it is that Andy is coaching through such adversity.
“Now here’s a guy whose son drunkenly mowed down a 5-year old girl and nearly killed her.”

-Collinsworth on SNF

Britt pleads not guilty after testing at .113 BAC two hours after the incident.

"According to police, Reid was driving about 84 mph prior to the collision. He had a blood alcohol level of 0.113 two hours after the crash (the legal limit is 0.08). Ariel Young, the 5-year-old child who was in one of the cars struck by Reid's vehicle, suffered a traumatic brain injury. Reid underwent emergency surgery for his groin following the collision."

And is still allowed to drive?

"The judge has allowed Reid to resume driving with restrictions that include a special interlock device that will require him to pass a Breathalyzer-type test before his vehicle will start. "

BAC decreases at the rate of 0.015 per hour as the alcohol is metabolized. So at the time of the accident, his BAC was approximately .143, almost twice the legal limit.

This guy shouldn't be allowed to walk...let alone drive

Of course. He's white, privileged, and rich.

and im sure there will be a expertly crafted NDA that expressly prevents the Hunt family of the Chiefs name from ever escaping the lips of the victim or her family members...

you're right ....yet not a peep of condemnation for andy reid or the hunts or the chiefs for hiring him ,knowing his history, from the national media. what a joke. here's hoping the little girl continues to get better.
