Absolute steal for TB on Barrett. Big hometown discount. When you think Trey Flowers got 5 years $90m...

Flowers signed a 3 year 53m deal. None of the last two years of that deal is real but was done to spread out the signing bonus.

Pundits who only looked at his size and dismissed him said that

Patriots entire OL was built on guys that pundits didn't like.

Wynn too small to play LT
Thuney "jack of all, master of none" back-up
Mason no shot in the nfl unless he moved to C
Onwenu, Ruiz was the big name of the Michigan OL

probably doing what they did with brady......two years of low cap hits, all backloaded into the final years

they have a 2 year projected window, and they are going for it

They still got a lot of young players. They will try and fill some spots on that d-line in the draft.

Elflein is considered horrible

That is an overpay for the Panthers
Elflein isn't considered horrible. You should stop listening to DKF for your player evaluations.. ;)

If they can keep Thuney I’ll be happy no matter what happens

he's considered well below Thuney, and if you compare centers/guards, is a little below andrews, from what i've seen

That is still more than Barrett and Barrett is the superior player. My point was that I would have liked to have kept Flowers but his price got massively inflated.

How about if they bring back Thuney AND Elandon, the former capt, and pay the latter 11M$/year. Still then ?

It would be nowhere close to 12-13 mill. There are way too money teams involved and this would immediately become a bidding war. He's likelier to earn 16 mill with teams like the Jets and Bengals involved compared to 12 mill.

He's gone

If Pats could find a way to bridge that 3-4mil difference per year in the signing/roster bonuses and incentives not too sure it's a sure thing he'd be gone. I mean its the jest & bungles not the packers & bucs

I can agree to this. He's (Elflein) not a top 10 center or guard.

Look at the other contracts that IOL have signed. Guys like Feliciano. They didn't break $8M APY. That's says that the market isn't nearly as robust as people thought.

3 for 13/APY or 4 at 14APY would probably get the deal done.. Especially if there are incentives like I mentioned earlier.

Not for NE

3@53 = 17.667. How is that more than 18?

Several posters have stated that with the massive OL and Cam, the offense will most likely be run heavy. Why would talented receivers want to sign with a run heavy team? I see this being an issue, hopefully it's not.
