If we cut Cannon( 9.6m) and decide not to sign Andrews( 6m) vs signing Thuney(15m) I would sign Thuney all day long!!We all want to keep Thuney but the 2021 cap space used by the OL is up there.
Brown- $11m
Shaq- $9.5m
Cannon- $9.6m
Owenu- Peanuts
Thuney would be big money.
My gut tells me Andrews is a $5m AAV guy but not sure what that NEP will want to commit in terms of a signing bonus/guarantees.
There is ZERO guarantee you get a 3rd for Thuney. ZERO. All it takes is one signing of a UFA and a 3rd comp for Thuney is gone.
If we figure Thuney is $15m of cap space in 2021, at a minimum thats ~$35m in cap space for 3 guys on the o-line total. If we cut Cannon( 9.6m) and decide not to sign Andrews( 6m) vs signing Thuney(15m) I would sign Thuney all day long!!
I'm just thinking of Thuney/Owenu/Mason in the middle of the line and I start salivating.
Are you sure it’s the OL you’re salivating over? Or are you having T/O/M Brady nostalgia? If we cut Cannon( 9.6m) and decide not to sign Andrews( 6m) vs signing Thuney(15m) I would sign Thuney all day long!!

RW, I was having a girl moment thinking of Owenu/Thuney/Mason in the middle of our line and then you had to ruin it by bringing up E. Roberts. lolIf we figure Thuney is $15m of cap space in 2021, at a minimum thats ~$35m in cap space for 3 guys on the o-line total.
Maybe Bill does that but I dunno.
What do you think about using the cap space to trade for Elandon Roberts?
Size is not Wynn's problem with LT and you are at least just as likely to get hurt playing OG.....I just look at the unit and think the most effectove approach will be from left to right Brown,Wynn,Andrews,Mason,Onwenu .... subject to change if Andrews doesn't return...I would just dump Cannon and give most of that money to Andrews
In 11 games, Brown allowed one sack in 326 pass-blocking snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.
I can’t imagine cannon stays around at that number. We all want to keep Thuney but the 2021 cap space used by the OL is up there.

If Wynn is healthy Wynn is best at LT, Brown is best at RT and onwenu is best at G.Trent Brown has consistently graded as an ELITE pass blocker but not a great run blocker. Which makes sense that he played left tackle with the Patriots and won a championship. Some of the posters here think they're smarter than Scar which is just hilarious. Trent Brown's ideal spot is LT and we need to solidify this position as Wynn is completely unreliable as a starting left tackle.

You don’t move players out of their best position because you might have an injury.
I'm not sure why so many want to move Wynn when he is the best LT on the team.
They don’t balance out 60 mill of cap room. Not that cut and dry.
Cam is a FA. He could very well land somewhere and play for 1 year money. James White, Burkhead, Guy, Simon, Wise could all be gone.
...and while it took some sorting out, the NEP acquired him in 2018 to be their swing T but clearly took to LT like a fish to water.Article below, Trent Brown was the worst graded RT in terms of % of negative run blocks. Trent Brown is an elite elite pass blocker and a mediocre run blocker. Sounds like a left tackle. Part of the reason why a genius coach like Scar put Trent Brown at Left Tackle and we won a ring with Trent Brown as left tackle.
Trent Brown set to return to right tackle in his first year with the Oakland Raiders
Shortly after signing him to a record-setting contract, the Oakland Raiders announced that they would be playing Trent Brown at right tackle, bucking the trend of playing a big-money tackle on the left side.www.pff.com
After that monstrosity of a post i see there is no point is going further because you simply have no knowledge on the topic.Wynn is not best at LT. I don't even know if we should keep Wynn after his contract expires. Wynn is on the hot seat. Our best players at their BEST proven positions are Trent Brown at left tackle and Michael Onwenu at right tackle. Those are the only 2 certainties. Wynn is so injury prone you don't plan your OLine around the most injury prone player who missed 70% of his games so far. Start with the most certain things which is Trent Brown plays great left tackle as a Patriot and won a ring doing so, and Onwenu is already one of the league's best right tackles. Wynn is on the outside looking in, let's see if he can stay healthy at left guard.

Are they acquiring him this time to be their RT? I don't think so.
