Player Signing Trent Brown trade to Pats

Onwenu would have to play guard, but on what side? Someone said he "isn't a LG", which I can't assess one way or the other. If that's true, what about moving Shaq to the other side?
Mason did play LG as a rookie. The big benefit of Wynn-Mason-somebody-Onwenu-Brown is that you can do running plays with Onwenu and Brown both at the point of attack, which isn't really an option if they're at opposite tackle positions. That lets Mason pull from left to right and get in on the action, too.

Trent Brown gave us the best LT play I can remember over the last 20 years in his short stint here.
My ideal line would be
LT-Brown
LG-Thuney
C-Andrews
RG-Mason
RT-Onwenu
reserves would be Wynn and Cannon.

I seriously want us to find a way to keep Thuney and Andrews. Trade Wynn away if we have to.

Do you think Wynn sucks or something? He's a good starting tackle.

It all starts in the trenches.
Onwenu played like 3 positions last year and excelled at all of them. I would be more scared to move Wynn, which people seem to think would just be a trivial thing to do.

Wynn is another Logan Mankins......would be a good tackle but has the making to be an all-pro at G

Onwenu did most of his damage at RT......it's a good OL that does not need bodies moving all over the place

But both of our ideas involve "bodies moving all over the place". Your move (Wynn from tackle to guard) just has less precedent.

I assume either Cannon will be cut/retire or Wynn kicks into guard when Thuney leaves. Maybe both and they think Herron can start at RT.

What did we trade away?
also this must mean we have no interest in Mariiota at least on his current contract?
Why would this have anything to do with mariota?

Reiss has Brown at RT, Wynn at LT, Owenu at LG.

Woot! The Predator is back!

Won't call this line the 90's Cowboys, but it's as good as it gets anywhere in the NFL in 2021!

I love this, he was a beast for us.

Wynn, Onwenu, C, Mason, Brown looks the best.

Wynn and Brown are the clear cut best tackles on the team. Moving Wynn inside makes little sense to me. You're negating some of his best qualities.
And keeping him at LT is the easiest transition. Brown has played RT, Onwenu played half the year at guard and looked better there. It's not the musical chairs that is moving 2-3 guys around.

Waking up this morning, I didn't expect to see Trent Brown coming back to the Patriots. Being on a 1 year deal, I'm surprised so many people are writing off Thuney staying. Thuney is an upgrade over Andrews and it's not even close. The two headed monster of Harris and Michel played very well at the end of the season. An O-line of Wynn, Onwenu, Thuney, Mason, Brown would be such a significant upgrade.

This all but ends Cannon's tenure on the team. Whether he made the decision or the team made it. He's been a helluva good RT for the Pats. While the rings he's earned are good, his greatest achievement was beating Cancer. Nothing but respect for him.

Cannon is gone.......saves the pats 7M in cap space

My bet:
LT - Brown
LG - Wynn
C - Andrews
RG - Mason
RT - Onwenu

Brady didn't make Brown.......contract year made Brown.....
Interesting, I think the one thing I am seeing with this move is that it gives us multiple options...Here are a few more:

LT: Wynn LT: Brown LT: Brown
LG: Owenu LG: Owenu LT: Owenu
C: Andrews C:Andrews C:Thuney
RG: Mason RG: Mason RG: Mason
RT: Brown RT: Wynn RT: Wynn

I think the one constant that we see is Cannon is probably gone and so is Thuney, although can you imagine a Owenu, Thuney Mason interior line...nasty!!!!
