Interesting development on the Jimmy G front

Happy Saturday Cousins. Nice way to start off the day with a good breakfast of scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese, crisp maple smoked bacon, toasted raisin bread with butter and a hint of blackberry jam, orange juice and a big mug of coffee I am still working on. As I am assembling the annual DW Toys "Trade-A-Rama" Draft I have thought of a way that the Niners can upgrade....But Jimmie G. is not coming here but to the Texans.?????

Put your Trading caps on. I am giving my Draft partially away but it goes like this:
The only Team that MIGHT have a legitimate shot to Trade for Watson are the Dolphins. Coach Flores and Nick C. know each other well. I don't think Nick has any issue with poking Bill either, as he did not let Nick go in 2019.

I am all for keeping a major talent like Watson but I think it's Easterby that is the fly in the ointment. I think Watson stays if Easterby is vanquished. First of all, most posters on this sight might have more football acumen over said executive.

"Jack Easterby, hired as the franchise’s executive vice president of team development in April 2019, a man who’d risen from low-level Jaguars intern to Patriots team chaplain to lauded character coach—before making an unprecedented shift into football operations.'

"Others are skeptical, unable to square his relentless ambition with claims of selflessness. Two years after his arrival in Houston, those inside the Texans’ building describe an atmosphere of mistrust, a state of constant chaos and a sense that he isn’t fit for the roles he’s taken on."

Easterby might be a nice guy.....who knows? ...But Nick C. has to have loyalty toward him for the job. I am sure the Pats are not Fans of Easterby.

O.K. now what? Watson might be of the school in that Texans locker room, of complete mistrust for the guy. Perhaps the strings pulled were actually not B.O. but Eaterby and when you lose one of the best WR in the NFL and your face of the franchise Watt leaves, Watson has questions ......at least I would suspect. So back to the reply and why will Watson force a trade? I think IMO it's Easterby. Those two might not play nice with each other. This is also why it will have to be done. But fear not Teaxan Fans.....a fleecing is about to happen!

The Dolphins want Watson (this will be a pain in the ass for the Pats). :

For Deshaun Watson QB

The Texans receive Tua Tagovailoa QB
Dolphins 2021 First Round Pick #3 (used by the Texans to pick QB Trey Lance)
Dolphins 2021 First Round Pick #18 (Traded to Cleveland for 1st round pick #26 which the Texans use to Draft bell cow RB Najee Harris plus a 2nd Round pick. Browns trade up to Draft South Carolina CB Horn who won't last until pick #26. The Browns have not had a top tier CB since Hayden)*
Dolphins 2022 First Round Pick
And........ Dolphins All Pro CB Xavien Howard

*The Texans also get Cleveland 2nd Round pick #59 and Houston gives back 4th Round pick #130 [ #18=900 POINTS -#26=700 POINTS, Cleveland 2nd Round pick #59=310 POINTS-Texans 4th Round pick=74 POINTS]

The Texans not competently satisfied with Tua and after Drafting top NFL QB prospect Trey Lance at pick #3, who is not ready yet for sure, trade Tua to the Niners for Jimmie G (well known by Nick C,) to have him start and at worst, Jimmie G. could be future Trade wampum of value.

Kyle Shanahan wants a younger QB and he might feel he can create an NFL monster out of Tua. He is not in love with Jimmie G.

Remember, the Texans started out the day with no first or second round picks. Nick C. gets the following:
QB Jimmie G.
CB All Pro Xavien Howard
#3 PICK QB Trey Lance
#26 PICK RB Najee Harris
#59 PICK in the 2nd Round perhaps Watt successor in DT Jay Tufele or DT Joe Tryon or ?
2022 1st Round pick of Dolphins

A lot lost by the Texans but the haul is good if they all work out. They filled a big hole at CB and a top tier RB helps any QB. If Trey Lance is a stud the Texans win the trade. He could be a larger version of Watson.

Nick C. avoids pitch forks and torches

If Bill shows them the money, the WR's probably won't care. Bill just needs to sign some competent talent for now.

It’s just a big game if chicken at this point. Everyone knows SF wants to upgrade from Jimmy G. and everyone knows Garappolo is the Pats plan A. It will work itself out, and I would not be surprised if it did before the start of the league year next week.

I am not against bring Garoppolo back, but I don't see him as the team's long term future. I question his durability and toughness. You might be able to go a year or two without a serious injury with Jimmy, but I doubt he can go long term and not end up on the IR a time or two or five.

If they trade for Garoppolo, they need to draft a QB of the future in this or next year's draft. If they don't love any of the QBs available at 15, I wouldn't be opposed to trading that pick if you can pick up a first rounder next year from a team that will likely suck next year. I am no draftnick, but I am told next year's draft has better top QB talents after Trevor Lawrence.

I am still not 100% sure that Garoppolo is really Belichick's plan A or he is just letting everyone believe that so there is less competition for his plan A.

Gilmore for Jimmy G straight up still makes the most sense.
keep the draft pick plus Niners can sell Gilmore to their Franchise if Jimmy G plays like a stud in New England.
We have to have the QB position settled before day 3 of active free agency

Who would you say it is?

Not sure. Maybe Belichick thinks Trubisky in the right system could be a very good QB. Maybe he is going to make a run at trading for Darnold and doesn't want to drive up the price by letting on he is the target since the Jets are likely going to make Bill pay more for him in the first place if they are willing to trade in the division.

I doubt he will go for Wilson or Watson because both those guys want a say in personnel and they know they will never get it here and they won't waive their no trade clauses to come to the Pats.

I just don't think Belichick makes his intentions so transparent. He always holds his cards to the vest and much of the chatter about what he might do in free agency seems to be more of misdirection.

I think Lynch is just waiting for Bill's phone call asking about a trade for Jimmy so he can laugh in Bill's face as payback for when Bill laughed after Lynch asked about Brady.

In all seriousness, the one thing to remember with Jimmy G(lass) is you need a spare. (Not that much wear on the tread but manufacturer says change that tire every trip to 7-11.)

I remember realizing during the "succession war" that ended in another TFB ring when I realized, "damn. This guy might have a quicker release than Brady." Then I remember realizing "Damn, you have to tear TFB's whole knee apart to make him miss a game, this guy is no TFB." then of course, "Damn, well, wouldn't have THIS SB if that Garoppolo plan went through..."

All that said, can he throw for more than 8 TD and 2500 yards? If so... UPGRADE!

But still, backup please. And if you think you want to take another flyer on Cam "getting it..." okay, backup to the backup too.

Now if we resign Thuney we have a murderers row at OL.

That would be nice but I don't think BB will work toward the optics. One new competent FA receiver will suffice. June 1 type cuts might still be in play for a QB.

I agree at some other positions sure.
The QB is the face of the franchise You need a good QB to sell free agents on coming to play for you.
Especially with any stat related incentives.
Whether that’s Jimmy G Mariota a fixed Trubiksy you have to be able to look the player in the face and say who the QB would be.

Next week is when we see if Jimmy gets moved. If the Niners don't trade for someone, they likely are moving forward with him this year.

I don’t think Bill ever laughed I think that was window dressing fabricated to kill the Brady trade stories.
From the horses mouth. Payback will be sweet for Lynch.
