Asante goes off on Bill/Pats organization

On Chandler Jones, it's probably because of the NFL's collective bargaining agreement. His drug was legal. So, I'm guessing the union would have argued he had an adverse reaction to a legal drug.
The Union can't do sh*t about a player being benched.

Tennessee having, or not having, buyer's remorse is completely irrelevant. What Rowe did last year, or Butler did last year, or you did last year, or some farmer in the Andes mountains did last year, is completely and equally irrelevant.
Hand picked by Juan Valdez

You're embarrassing yourself with this crap.
I showed you statistically what Butler did in 2017... but that's not relevant.

Sounds legit...

I think the original Butler thread was one of the all time longest in number of posts.

I stopped following the story because, ONE, Butler is crying on the sideline as though he just found out, and TWO, several Patriots are on record as practicing all week knowing that Butler was being benched (although stories are different as to whether they thought he was being benched for a quarter, a half, or the whole game). McCourty is absolutely positive that he knew.

So here, as a fan, I'm left with the obvious conclusion that the players knew he was benched, but Butler didn't, and they didn't even talk to him about it. I can't even say what to draw from this conclusion. Were they walking on eggshells around him? Or they just weren't very communicative? It's bizarre.

This contradiction is apparent. Unless of course other Patriots and McCourty were trying to kill the story and refuse to make excuses for the play on the field.

And yet, Bill Belichick still determined Butler was a better option than Rowe and Bademosi, right up until that one game where the defense was humiliated due to poor cornerback play...but that's not relevant.

Sounds legit...

Poor week of practice, was "sick," and broke team rules... it's already been spelled out for you numerous times.

First, Butler crying on the sidelines was not a good look by him. Second, Eric Rowe and James Harrison have said they weren't aware Butler was not going to play. In fact, Harrison is the only player I've heard that thought that was a questionable move by Bill. Also, Rowe has said he thought he was just warming up the seat for Butler and found out he was starting on Sunday.

The story is not consistent which is probably why we can't stop talking about it.

Belichick said it wasn't disciplinary. Are you saying he's a liar?

Belichick said it was a football decision.

Part of the reason you guys hate him is because he isn't effusive enough in telling you what you want to hear. He says as little as possible.

That's correct. The numbers are completely irrelevant. Again, even if you want to argue that Butler shouldn't have been starting, you lose the argument when you defend Butler not bring brought in after the defense spent the first half getting turned into Philly's *****.

To repeat: Take the "L". It's the only intelligent play you've got here.

Rowe also changed his story and said he took first team reps all week.

The story is inconsistent because nobody wanted to throw Butler under the bus, not the coaches, not his teammates.

Butler crying on the sideline told me all I needed to know.

Oh, I don't hate him.

I hate you.

The Pats were losing that game regardless.

If only Asante had spoken to Butler, Butler could've told Bill on the sidelines, play me or "I'll f*** this team up".

Agree, the whole situation was bizarre. Something happened between Malcolm and Steven and nobody, I mean nobody wants to touch that (no pun intended) with a ten foot pole. We'll only find out once someone is completely out of the game that has no chance of getting into the HOF, and will finally tell the ugly, sordid inside scoop.

Where did you hear about all those details concerning the week of practice being the reason he got benched?

I heard from a reliable source that Steven wanted to touch Malcolm's pipi and he wouldn't let him, so he got benched. That's why it's so hush hush. Of course this will never be admitted or confirmed by anyone, the Patriots being more secretive than the NSA.
DMC and Rowe said.

So BB Jr wanted to play pinch dinks w/ Malcolm? LMAO.

Yeah my initial reaction was Butler must've offended little Steven when Chris Collinsworth kept asking why Butler wasn't out there.

In 2015 Chandler Jones was arguably their best defender, in 2017 Malcolm Butler was unquestionably their worst starting defender... pretty simple.
And when Jon Bademosi and Eric Rowe are getting torched while Eagles receivers are high-fiving mid route Bill didn't feel like adjusting and maybe giving the guy who started all year a start?

Just curious, Woozy...why did Chandler Jones play the next game after a psychotic breakdown involving drugs? Did he not violate a team rule? Do you think he was focused in practice?

See page 18 for his response.
