If he was GM, he still would be. Maybe he’s thinking he has a hard time relating to today’s athlete but still loves the game, so wants someone he trusts as a HC while he can focus on something that doesn’t require as much day to day interaction with the players (dealing with their stuff).I believe Bill completely enjoys working with his sons. He used to talk about his biggest regret was missing a lot of their childhood.
I don't see why he would leave that.
I’m sure he’d also be on the practice field regardless coaching technique. The danger with that is making sure the players respect Matt and don’t think BB is still calling the shots and in charge on the coaching front.
