Words on things I watched, read & heard

The Bucs weren’t really concerned with Mahomes scrambling for yards to his left. They wanted to flush him in that direction and as long as they had a player pursuing him, they were OK with the results whether he ran or had to make an amazing throwing to his weak side.

“(Mahomes is) a great quarterback,” Bowles said after the game. “But for the most part, you know if he’s not throwing the ball 30 yards down the field, we’ll take those 5- and 8-yard runs all day.”

Marty never got his due. Missed the SB because 2 kickers couldn't make FG's inside 50 yards, one RB couldn't hold onto the ball at the 1 yard line, and a DB didn't know enough to give himself up after an interception and then fumbled. His record is very good, I think 200-126, in several Conference Championship games with 3 different teams. His best coaching job was turning an 0-8 Redskin team into 8-8 with Tony Banks at QB. Dan Snyder, the eternal meddler, enamored of Steve Spurrier dumped Marty and the Redskins have been crap ever sense. If he had kept Marty and left him alone, they would have been winners. There are many coaches that never got their due. Marty is at the top of that list.

A few guys I wouldn't mind spending a pick on that are needs. Payne or Allen from Washington. Man their F7 is absolutely nasty. I mean borderline special nasty. I wouldn't trade anyone and love strong position groups but Washington has decisions to make very soon regarding contracts and getting that offense going.

TJ Hockenson is another one. The Pats need a TE1 and he'd immediately step into that role. Him and Asiasi could be a decent duo with Keene playing the do-it-all role. *edit* this is probably the most farfetched

Cannon & a 3rd to reunite Bill & a Brown.

On the OL, if either Thuney and/or Andrews leaves, then Dan Feeney, who has played both LG & Center, would be a less-expensive option than Thuney but a more-expensive one than Andrews...Mongo Karras Part 2 wouldn't suck either...

At TE, Hunter Henry is obviously the Big Fish, but a Much less-expensive option for a vet presence in the room who won't demand the football is the Chargers'(again) Virgil Green...He's done the dirty work for the running games in both Denver & SD/LA...

At WR, Marvin Jones, Nelson Agholor...and...Finally...Larry Fitz!

At RB, re-sign James White & Cordarelle Patterson Part 2...

At QB, either Dak, Fitz or Jacoby Brissett...

At DT, first re-sign Guy & Butler, then see about others such as Hankins/Rankins ...

At DE, Matthew Judon & Carl Lawson...

At LB, KJ Wright & BC's own Matt Milano...

At CB, Desmond King, Ronald Darby...

At Safety, Anthony Harris or BC's own Justin Simmons...
