Andy Reid’s son involved in serious accident while intoxicated

If it wasn't for Andy he's be dead or in ja

If he was boozing it up at the practice facility and the team provided alcohol..........

Theyz got sum 'splain to do.
Don't think that is likely as Andy is a mormon. People who've been invited to his box can't drink. Thus, think practice facility would have same restrictions.

Who knows. Maybe they didn't have a keg on tap but Britt had a meth lab and was running guns in Andy's own house for crissakes. He clearly has no respect for his father.

I like Andy Reid. I believe he has lost one kid before .Hopefully no father has to go through this pain again and its not likely reflective of Andy Reid. But again to show the difference in how media access helps you. BB loses 7-9 this yr and is getting killed. Imagine if his son was involved in something like this. They would have a field day. But since reid is nice to the media and generally engages more , there is no backlash. Whats more, BB is already getting hits for nepotism but there is no news that Andy also employs his son.

...and BB Jr was 19 and not even on the staff.

I cannot stand Jim Nance. Loves the sound of his own voice.
There's a few good stories that exemplify his bigger than life ego.

*There's the story that he carries around a picture of toast cooked just the way he wants it so his waitress can show it to the cook when he sends it back.
*To honor the MVP in the NCAA basketball tourney he gives the lucky winner his tie. It's probably a running joke to the players.
*For years he's been working the Masters golf tourney and has been trying to interject himself into the beginning of the broadcast, something about the Masters being unlike anything else. It hasn't caught on yet but I'm sure he'll keep trying.
*He's the original Tuckhead who did nothing but whine about the correct call in the Snow Bowl after it was over, even though we all had just witnessed the greatest kick in NYFL history and two perfect drives by Tom Brady in a blinding snowstorm.

He reminds me of Collinsworth's yapping about deflated footballs and passing down at the goal line while ignoring two of the greatest finishes in SB history.

I am paywalled out but what an egregiously inappropriate headline. Truly disgusting display of elevating a celebrity persona. Imagine if Reid’s grandkids were hospitalized and the driver was a regular person. Would you see articles printed immediately portraying accused DUI driver‘s father as the sympathetic victim?

Yep

The toast pic is even laminated.

Addiction is not something that you can just turn on and off by picking yourself up by the boot straps. Some folks can just stop. Others can't. Ask me how I know.

That being said with all options available in today's day and age he could have got a ride. Or with all the money his family has, he could have checked into a treatment program.

Maybe Andy will pay more attention to the health of his family some day. For now that sadly gets ignored as he is celebrated by the sports and national media for his career sucesses.

What a fcked up country we live in...

More to the point, why was he even in this position in the first place? A high-stress work environment that's metal to the pedal 24/7 during the season, and an environment that's famously machismo (i.e., unforgiving and devoid of support). Absolutely the last place that someone who struggles with addiction issues should be in.

Can't think of a better combination of triggers for a relapse.

This is 100% on Reid, himself.

Not surprised if it is a puff-piece then, considering who wrote the story.

How many ex-felons have the opportunity to coach in the NFL? Yet, Bieneimy can't land a HC job supposedly over trouble while he was in college? They shouldn't allow this nepotism. If sons of coaches want to follow in their father's footsteps, let them do it in college and go up the ranks with other teams to prove themselves like everyone else.

There's no paywall. Article wasn't favorable at all, it went after all his priors. Not a good look for KC.

He also had a handful of incidents as an NFL player.

I believe in giving people a second chance but any NFL owner can't pull a NY Mets and hire him w/o doing a thorough investigation into every/all matters.

oooh a your mom type comeback.
It suits you. Grow a pair and pay your debts. Welsher
The money has already been allocated to good causes.

Some in 2022. GFY

This violates the personal conduct policy as well so the Chiefs could lose picks and get fined.
It does not violate the Chiefs conduct policy.

Keep an eye on wife and child beater Tyreek if Brady pulls this off.

Another reason I love Patsfans. I learn stuff. For several years I thought the announcers were calling him "Eric, The Enemy".

I can understand why you would rationalize not paying on a bet you commited to with your honor and reputation.

After all, that's a lot of money to you. Your slumlord landlord won't accept those welfare entitlement stamps for much longer.

If anyone wants to donate to the child in the accident...and please, don’t be tacky like Chiefs fans and put your favorite football team in the comments.

The Chiefs somehow seem to skate on all the horrible stuff that’s surrounded that organization for years. I don’t know if it’s because they’re a small market team or because they weren’t really relevant for a while but we get crushed in the national media for under inflated footballs and filming signals. The Chiefs have had a player kill his girlfriend then himself. Had another team employee kill his girlfriend and himself. Drafted a guy knowing he choked and punched his pregnant girlfriend then gave him a lowball deal since they had leverage on him after he broke his kid’s arm and was on the verge of suspension. Traded for a domestic abuser who once threatened a reporter for mentioning the abuse incident. Had a backup Dlineman who was an abuser and child beater. Signed an UDFA DB after he was arrested for burglary and domestic assault in college then cut him when he got arrested again. Had a RB who was on video kicking a woman. Now Andy Reid’s kid potentially killing children.

And that is just recently. Not even delving into some of the Hunt family’s transgressions or Larry Johnson’s domestic abuse and wacky Twitter nonsense. Tim Barnett a multi time abuser given multiple chances. I really don’t get how they don’t get even a fraction of the media scrutiny we get.
I’d go with the also-ran/small market angle. They were a poverty franchise for 49 years then Kermit happened. They did have good seasons here and there but they were mostly blips. When they had Montana that made them relevant for a couple of years then straight back to bleh.
