Stafford on the trading block [update: traded to Rams]

Stafford is a good choice for a team like the Colts that's one QB away from SB
He's about as good as Rivers, which predictably did not work out for them (even though the media and Colts staff would say 11-5 and a first round exit was a success).

Stafford really isn't good enough to get any team over the hump. He's good enough to win a Super Bowl with a team that would be good enough to win one without him, but that's about it.

Whoever coughs up a 1st for him is setting their franchise back. I just hope it isn't us.

Brady probably voted for Trump and flaunted covid protocol in florida.

I don't really care about players political views of they can play. Let alone their wives views. I mean half people here still are upset we cut antonio brown and he possibly raped a woman

eh....as I said in another thread.....bring back Cam, and spend every other cap dollar and draft pick on defense.....zig when everyone else zags

Maybe cam newton will throw 10 tds this season instead of 8. Improvement...

I'd opt for Trubisky for short dollars......zero interest in the 20+M/yr guys who are available

players political views bother me less than wives who love to be the center of attention and end up being part of "the" story........

this was not the first, or even 2nd, time she was in the news lol

that sort of thing has traditionally not flown here, and is not how BB likes to do things......

She wasn't wrong though.

I doubt we offer more than 15 for Stafford I think he’s very talented.
It be hard to sleep knowing we paid a ton of money and picks for Stafford when Watson and Allen are in NY.
We have to go big or go home.
Watson Wilson or Lance should be the QBs we go broke for or give up mid picks for Mariota, or Jimmy G

Bill should've done it. Brady is still here if patriots trade for Diggs.

not only did we lose Diggs, but brady made his decision at that moment the offensive talent was going to be trash and he was out the door.

That's just dumb. Brady negotiated his contract to allow him to hit free agency a year before the Diggs trade and once it happened, he was on the Patriots cap for $13.75 Million in dead money. In other words, they would have had to sign him to $38.75 Million ($25 Million + $13.75 Million) just to match the Bucs's offer. Oh, and by the way, if they did that, they wouldn't have been able to franchise Thuney *or* trade for Diggs because they would have been out of cap space.

mahomes is making 45million a year starting next year and Rodgers is making 33million, Deshaun watson is making $39million. Ryan tannehill is making $27million. This idea that $20million for stafford or the current $26million for Jimmy G is too much doesnt make much sense.

All of those contracts were negotiated pre-COVID and with the expectation that the salary cap would go up every year as it always did. It's going down next year.

The 49ers maybe? Idk. I still have my doubts with stafford. The 49ers fans will happy but i wonder if the guy can get them to a super bowl.

I mean they are one year removed to being in a super bowl. a run in which they relied on their defense and running game to get there. Stafford is a much better deep passer than Jimmy G and may be able to better run Shanahans offense. Another season like this one and lynch/shanahan are likely on the hot seat. so this move wouldnt surprise me one bit.

and whether it is fair or not, I think the 4th quarter in last years superbowl left a bad taste in their mouth about Jimmy G

Yes but what has stafford won? Also the guy has a tendency to make bonehead plays. Rivers was the same . We shall see. Very competitive division as well.

this would be the best news if true. Pats could sign Jimmy G for no draft capital and upgrade the team at the same time.

if I'm the pats I offer a low pick if no ones biting just to make sure Jimmy gets here.
It’s not that great news tbh. Stafford is much better than Jimmy. I get Pats fans are sentimental over him but he’s not that good and he’s made of glass.

Well he was close. Each of their team names has a T in it.
