Congrats Tom

The irony is that 90% of this idiotic argument is coming from the Brady people.

There is next to nobody who makes the argument the other way, in fact most reasonable posters recognize the different value and dynamics both of them brought to the table throughout 20 years.

It is a shame.

And as an additional thought, I mean, think about it ...

There are people who claim Brady haters exist here. I’ve seen maybe 3-5 total, if that.

Yet you can find 2-3+ folks legitimately calling for Belichick to be fired. Fired, like seriously. The coach who has appeared in 9 Super Bowls and won 6, over the last 20 years, should be fired.

Fighting a war that only exists in their own minds.

I think he got rejuvenated when his kids joined the staff. I can easily see him go beyond 5 years depending on how the rebuild goes.
Too bad the kids did nothing to "rejuvenate" the team. In fact their pointless presence merely makes it harder for actual coaches with actual skills to find a place here. If we lose Mayo so we can hold on to these wastes of space you'll understand.

I'm a patriots fan who moved to Florida a few years ago. tb12 is the gift that keeps on giving.

Package deal. Take used-up Bill too. We might even throw in Sanu if he's still ambulatory.

There is a lot of overlap between those bozos and those that don't appreciate how difficult it is to win in the NFL and almost treat it as a birthright.

Of course the clown radio media amplifies this sillyness and suggests to those people that BB took something away from them that was rightfully theirs.

It is all deep engrained in their identity now which brings it back to your political comparison.

Right there with you buddy. My wife and I moved here a year ago January... she says, "It's like Tom Brady follows us wherever we go!"

This is Brady’s 19th year as a starting QB minus his injury season. He usually makes the SB. That is so crazy and fabulous.

Aside from a handful of folks, who do you think is legitimately salty over Brady’s success?

There are people (like myself) who find it extremely bittersweet watching Brady win another uniform, and I think we’re the vast majority when compared to pure Brady haters. Can count on one, maybe two hands the number of legitimate Brady haters.

So who exactly is the target audience with shots like this?

I am happy for him. But I feel his success takes a little bit away from the Patriots success.
It takes away from the teams that won while Tom was just getting started...and takes away from the teams that were talented but just fell short of the SB.
I am annoyed that every Brady compliment has to be sandwiched with a Patriots negative comment:
Arians: “The Patriots never let him coach. We let him and it’s fun to watch.”
Rex Ryan: “players came to the patriots to play with Tom Brady, not to be coached by Bill Belichick.”

He's crazy enough to not retire should he win. Prett sure he's aiming for one more season no matter what.

Another aging fanboy. All things pass, and Bill's time has come. I've been a fan for 60 years, and I have rooted for the team througout. Rooting for your team to get rid of a failed head coach supports a team. Pointless hero worship does not.

Maybe its time to support a different team.

It is exactly what Manning did with the Broncos. Stacked on offense and talented on defense.

It was a good move by Tom to maximize the time he has left. BB has another rebuilt and run in him. Brady doesnt.

Except Manning was walking carcass and Brady is playing at such a high level.

Don’t let anyone convince you that Brady’s success in Tampa is an indictment on the Patriots’ success.

The fact that the Tampa offense has, in some ways, morphed into a New England clone should tell you a lot.

New England was successful because they have a phenomenal GM, coach, and the GOAT QB. Brady contributed to the New England’s success in big ways but he was not the sole reason for it, just as is the case in Tampa; that’s an extraordinarily talented team across the board.

Can you articulate (with objective facts, observations, and statistics) as to why Belichick should be fired?

So far the most you’ve offered is your own opinion, but not anything beyond that.

Take a look in that Tampa thread.

I'm curious but did Bill Russell win any rings after Red Auerbach retired ??

GOAT.

Byron Leftwich looks like an awesome OC and McDaniels has now been exposed as a failure 3 different times without Tom (Denver'10, StLouis'11, NE'20).

Just insane. No off-season work, a crappy coach, three road playoff games. If you remove 08 and 2000 he’s more likely to be in the super bowl than not.

Here's how you can tell Brady is the GOAT: whenever some other QB plays real well and/or wins a championship, they always compare that guy to Brady.

For example, Rodgers had an MVP season and he was being compared to Brady. But now Rodgers (and those claiming he is better than Brady) are going to completely disappear. If, hypothetically, Mahomes wins his 2nd SB in 2 weeks from now, they won't be comparing Mahomes to Rodgers. Or Brees. Or Manning. Or Montana. They will be comparing him to Brady.
