Not really. I still like Sam.
Apparently others do as well.
From a CBS mock draft a few days ago suggesting the Jets could still trade Sam for a 1st (even after his cheap years are almost gone). This is discussing their late 1st round pick...
The quarterback position is settled with Trevor Lawrence. In an ideal world, Joe Douglas would be able to add a third first-round pick in a trade of Sam Darnold. New York has several holes to fill in their streets and on their roster. Derion Kendrick would be a cornerstone cornerback but the offensive line needs to improve for Lawrence to have sustained success.
Don't forget the Jets have a TON of cap space. Seems they really weren't trying this season. Perhaps decided to not waste money on the "covid" season?
And plenty of draft capital.
I'm psyched to see what next year's roster looks like.
Personally I'd get Sewell to pair with Becton on the edges. And even use the later 1st rounder on a Guard or Center.
Then use some of that $$$ to bring in a real good veteran olineman or 2.
Build a massive wall of talent.
Let‘s entertain your delusions, though your pro-Darnold take is more like delusions that delusions have.
A few days ago, you could have traded down a spot or two, picked up at least three first round picks (Lawrence trade value) and still grabbed Sewell with one of those picks.
Today you can draft Sewell and get nothing else.
Oh make no mistake, IF the Jets get the #1 pick... they take TL.
Can't pass on a "once in a generation" talent like him. Especially with most of Sam's cheap years gone.
I'm just saying I'm still happy to keep Sam while building a great oline. Suppose I'm one of those old school types who thinks a great oline can make average QBs, RBs n WRs great.
Sadly the “grudge” match is completely pointless for both teamsYou're next Pats.
We already have the #2 pick locked up (Sewell hopefully).
Makes for a fun grudge match vs New England.

Pats don't want to win. It does us not favors to.You're next Pats.

That's what makes it fun.
Just a backyard game for bragging rights.
You'll be disappointed. May lose, but it won't be a tank.Pats don't want to win. It does us not favors to.
I expect a full on tank the next 2 games so we can climb 5 or 7 slots.
It might look like one. The Jets looked like a decent football team the last two weeks, beating two playoff teams. You'll be disappointed. May lose, but it won't be a tank.
Oh,that revisionist history is already in full bloom.BB will start Stidham and Stids will throw for 4 TD's and obliterate the Rat scumbags and their insane fanbase."We didn't want Trevor Lawrence anyway!!!"
whatever gets us to pick 11 at this point. You'll be disappointed. May lose, but it won't be a tank.
