Silver Lining... Sony Michel

Yeah he's an atrocious runner inside the tackles, but he'd do the same things he did with Tom in NE. Fournette probably regrets signing in TB and will leave and McCoy probably won't be back.
TB's gonna have problems in the POs if they can't rely on their ground game to at least convert short-yardage situations...surprised & disappointed that it hasn't developed by now.

Chubb has been playing 1/2 the snaps for CLE this year and is a just-ok receiver
He still has 600 more yards, 9 more touchdowns rushing and his catches are down this year but last year alone he caught more passes than Sony has his entire career. I don't know how anyone could think there is a real comparison between these two players.

Hell of a committee. Folks always want to immediately call guys the bell cow, but we seldom go that way... good to have a full stable.

We still need another Big Back, whether that's Bolden returning or somebody new...

Seriously? Sony? My god who cares about even one inch of his useless yardage from yesterday. The game, the entire season, has been a total debacle. Sony is just one of SEVERAL mind-numbingly worthless draft picks of Belichick. The roster is pretty much a dumpster fire.
One could argue that Sony was instrumental in the 2018 season SB victory. For that alone, he was a worthy choice. Just like Mitchell & Stork were good picks despite playing less than two years.

Yes he was. As a first round pick though... very debatable. If he was a second round pick... much better.

He’s alright. Had a few nice games lately. With Burkhead tearing his ACL it would appear that Michel should work as a #2 RB in the future behind Harris. Hopefully White comes back.

I’d give the next 5 first rounders for the 2021 SB. It’s an easy trade to make.

trophies > first round picks

Bolden? Oh may.

The "committee" is getting a bit overrated here. Sony was terrible last season, he's looked better this season with limited reps, but he's still a complete zero in the passing game.

Harris has been good, not great, but let's what see what he looks like next season. Harris also is a non-threat in the passing game (but in his case he may just be a casualty of the extremely limited quarterback play).

White has had a completely wasted season with Newton at quarterback.

Burkhead was their most versatile and productive RB before his knee injury; he'll also be on the wrong side of 30 next season so his career may be in jeopardy.

I think you’re right about Burkhead unfortunately.

Also Harris has been great IMO. 5.0 yards per carry - ranked #6 among RB in the league this year, and with absolutely zero threat of a passing game. If he flames out next year that would be a massive disappointment. I expect great things from him.

For someone being new to the board, all of your posts are negative,(bordering on trolling) so if the Patriots are so bad, why not just go to another team's board? Where were you when we won the Super Bowl two years ago. If you're this negative in life, you must be a barrel of laughs at a party. I'm not trying to be a b%%ch, but just trying to give you some constructive criticism.

SB, that kid has been trolling since he came on the board, to say Harris hasn't been great, just don't know what he's been watching.

And it’s not just his performance on the field it’s his leadership qualities and what he is saying. He’s special. I think the kid could be on the path to being a star.

The only concern I have with him is health. Otherwise once we get a viable passing game, look out!

I hate this argument. Anyone could have ran behind that offensive line and TE group. Blount, Ridley, and BJGE could have done what Sony did.

There is a running back from Missouri in the 2021 draft named roundtree.

he is a bigger back with a nose for the end zone that we could sign as a free agent to take burkhead’s carries next year.

I think 2018 Sony is better than any one on that list. But « yes » the OL was on fire.

Agree - why give credit for something that someone actually did when you can just imagine other players could have done the same. So what that he had the most rushing yards in a single Patriots postseason, 6 TD's and several critical runs against the Chiefs and Rams that helped secure the victory.

James White had a great Super Bowl against the Falcons- so what, Faulk, Woodhead of Vereen could have done the same thing... why give anyone credit?

He did it and deserves credit but to say he was worthy of a first round pick because of three games is ludicrous.

Law firm was as average as average gets for a back. Very definition of JAG. Other than the Colts and Patriots, Blount has been quiet against quality opponents in the playoffs. Sony is better than those guys.

I’m just not sure Sony isn’t available anyway in the second round if the Pats wanted him.
