Kyle Dugger

Has really flashed recently. I have been impressed with his knack and ability to be around the ball. I think he is definitely going to be a keeper.

For those who said that he is invisible during games, they have no clue.

2015: Why can't our 2nd round pick play?!
2016: Why can't our 2nd round pick play?!
2018: Why can't our 2nd round pick play?!
2019: Why can't our 2nd round pick play?!
2020: Why's everyone so excited about Kyle Duggar?
Lol to be fair those 2nd rounders didn't play and when they did we wish they didn't.

2015: Jordan Richards
2016: Cyrus Jones
2018: Duke Dawson
2019: Joejuan Williams

What a horrific lot. As far as I am concerned Duggar has already showed more than any of those bums.

To be fair, Gronk was a 2nd rounder as was Jimmy G , Vereen, Pat Chung, Vollmer, Darius Butler (Still had a career in NFL), Branch, Eugene Wilson, Ben Watson....

I get it, not a ton of superstars and we went through a really rough stretch but hasnt ALL been bad. Need to also throw in Uche! he looks pretty good too so maybe 2020 2nd round makes up for that all a bit...

Looked back at recent drafts - Boy was that 2017 draft horrible is that the year we lost a pick? Or did Bill trade away every pick we had? Woof.

I know the first rounder was traded for Cooks. I don't remember what happened with the second? Maybe traded back?

I still remember going into that draft thinking that team was so deep the draft didn't really matter that much that year as we were stocked at almost every position.

Everyone disses this draft, and of course it wasn't a good one, but we traded picks to compete for a Super Bowl towards the end of GOAT. Plus Garcia wasn't anyone's fault, and Wise is a multi-year starter who helped win Super Bowls.

I would add Keene. When Izzo went down Keene went in. BB could have brought in a vet TE, but is going with Keene. Uche's one job is pass rush so everyone notices him. Keene's initial one job is blocking, so no-one notices him (which is actually good if you don't notice him). Keene will broaden out as he learns the position to include pass catching, and then everyone will notice him and be surprised. Also tried to play though his knee issue - tough guy, competitor.

Now onto Asiasi. As you note it could get ugly. Hopefully he is not playing because he is injured (and I do not wish anyone to be injured).
Isn't Asiasi practicing?

He was on temp IR, so he had to come off that and start practicing, or go on season ending IR. I do not think he has been activated since coming off IR and his 3 week limit must be running out. Could be an injury recovery, or they could be saving the roster spot for someone else because Asiasi is not picking things up. Before the Dolphins game they have to activate him or put him on season ending IR.

BB traded a 2nd rounder for DE Kony Ealy & a 3rd rounder.

He's still pretty invisible during the games. The hype around him recently is bizarre.
I’m not sure how you miss him since teams throw his way often enough. But he’s always around the ball and a lot of his deficiencies right now will become strengths as he adjusts to the pro game. He’s not Chung from 2014-2018 just yet, but the potential is definitely there.

Wow. Terrible. Our draft metrics for WR/CB got seriously screwed up by McDaniels and Caserio. See the Wickersham article on it.

We also traded for Brandin Cooks and TE James O'Shaughnessy with assets from that draft. Obviously only Cooks gave us any production from those trades. O'Shaughnessy caught on in Jacksonville and is there still as their #2 or #3 TE. That one I never understood.

Yes, someone asked what happened to our 2017 2nd rounder.

It isn't the lack of second round production that drives people nuts. It's the consistency of which BB seems to obviously reach for unathletic DB's in the 2nd that has been grating on people who pay attention to the draft.

Our second rounders have panned out if they weren't WR/CB picks post-McDaniels' crappy WR/CB system that over-wrote Belichick's dad's scouting methods.

Like Uche, his impact has gone way up

This draft is turning out to be a pretty strong one, but I am holding out for the Devin Asiasi (lack of) Progress Report

They had an extra couple of weeks of prep time due to the early playoff exit. For this upcoming draft, they'll have even more. Will be interesting to see if they can improve.

Dude's awesome, just like all of the other rookies on defense...and like the rookie TEs too...

Chess v Checkers...

Yeah it was Brady's fault that the 2017 draft was a catastrophe...That's the ticket...

It's not about fault. They made two more Super Bowls, winning one of them. It took the franchise the first 40 years to pull that off.

Now they have to pay the piper and rebuild.

It was the right strategy, regardless of whether individual moves worked or not.

Patriots traded down eight spots in the draft in return for Panthers Kony Ealy. The draft pick was traded again and eventually the Patriots drafted Derek Rivers. So basically the Patriots just burned a second round pick.

for as bad as bb is picking defensive backs in the second round, look at how good he excels at finding udfa’s for the defensive backfield.

sadly when it comes to wide receivers, he is completely clueless and at the mercy of Lady Luck!
