So did I just misunderstand your argument and the premise that they need a top 2 pick for the QB in order to be successful? Yea high picks get you good talent but you don't need to be 1 or 2 in the draft to get a good QB. Literally just look at Mahomes, Rogers, Wilson, Prescott, etc. You seem to be disappointed that they'll miss out on their absolute only shot at a decent QB. Seems a bit panicky
They missed their shot at Lawrence, which was what I was commenting on. They’ll still have shots at the Trasks and Mac Jones’ of the world. But your argument was still trash. For every team like the Jets and Jags that pick high, you have teams like the Chiefs (who had high picks before Mahomes and were out of the basement before he was drafted), the Browns (8-3), the Rams, the Titans, hell... the Ravens have picked in the top 5-6 multiple times in the BB era.

Call my argument trash one more time and I'll kick your ass

The only thing this win did, was to ensure mediocrity for years to come barring some miracle in the draft. People forget how horrid it was for years. Drew pulled this team out of the abyss...and where was he picked? Don't even use Brady because he was and is an enigma. Ditto for Wilson. No, you need to have a top 10 pick at least to have a shot at a top flight QB to ensure you get your choice.

This team doesn't need a retread. It needs fresh top shelf elite talent at the QB position. This win may have sealed that missed opportunity.

There will be QB talent available. In FA and the draft. We just have to find it.

Seems Allen actually isn't done for the year, that was reported incorrectly. He played 90% of the game.
Appreciate it. I just saw it was ugly but wasn’t actually watching the game.

With a 23.6 passer rating Newton has to be flirting with a record for worst passer rating on a winning team

that’s incredible

Pats are now 4-2 against teams with winning records. That’s actually a pretty good record, better than most years.
It has been strange.

I said it at the time and I will say it again here: The Cardinals were fools to call that final timeout when the Patriots had the ball and it was 3rd down.

With that and the Jets loss, the Pats are officially eliminated from Lawrence contention.

I think had they lost this game they likely would have found themselves in the top 7 or 6 with a chance at the kid from BYU. This likely will be 15 through 18.

A win. I’ll take it

They were eliminated the instant they attempted to win the Jets game. It was over then.

Missed opportunity for what? They were not getting a top 10 pick with Belichick even with this lack of talent. Get that out of your head. You can only hope either Garoppolo gets traded to you or the Pats pick up a nice QB in the later rounds for development.

Yes, BB the GM puts together a roster low on talent and by achieving mediocrity, the team nets BB the Coach an award. Got it.
(BTW - in BB I trust).
Yea if coach of the year took your draft picks into play he'd have no chance but wait turns out that doesn't matter lol

Stupid team. Played it too safe. They look like pretenders.
