Sony actually ran very well against the raiders before getting hurt. If we get that Sony him and Burk can do some damage. This is one game where I’d try to take the ball first and get a lead, Lamar hasn’t looked good the last couple weeks so somehow gotta force him to throw.

The good news is that the Ravens aren't nearly the team they were last season. The losses of Yanda (retirement) and Stanley (broken ankle) mean they're not getting the same run blocking, so it's a little easier to go light against them. The Patriots will need more production out of the DT position, whether that's Guy back, Davis increasing his snap count from last night's 12, Mack recently claimed off waivers, or Glasgow from the PS. Would also be nice to get more out of Dugger, who only played 4 snaps after missing two games.

Adrian Phillips was a big part of the Chargers' 4-0-7 defense that shut down the Ravens in the 2018 playoffs. He had 6 tackles, a fumble recovery, and intercepted one and deflected two of the three passes into his coverage.
Good post.

They're not the same team. If anyone here isn't familiar with or watched Yanda think of a super Mankins. Those two are one in the same in a lot of ways. Yanda is walking into the HOF and Balty misses him. Leadership, tone setting, such a tough player. They're not all on the same page, continuity isn't the same.

They've let up more pressure than last year, 10% + and Jackson is still figuring out how to handle that with the WR corp they have. Not the same physicality in the run game. A drop off was expected I suppose.

They desperately need an alpha WR. I thought they should have went after Gallup. Their WR just arent consistent enough. Really good puzzle pieces but they need stability, consistency. Gallup could have been what Diggs is to Allen or Hop to Murray.

Also not utilizing Andrews enough. He should be that guy rn. Especially down the seam/MOF. They need more from him.

They didn't really evolve too much on offense and need to hit that next level. They still have a decent window but this off-season is huge for them. Solidify the OL, get Jackson a legit every down/distance WR and another TE. They're missing Hurst a tiny bit as crazy as it sounds.

Could someone let me know the site where to get these type of stats from , (mind you being able to read them properly would help....lol)
If you (or anyone else) is into more in-depth info than what espn provides, here are a couple of other links to sites with all sorts of stats.

Just be forewarned, if you are a numbers person you can easily lose complete track of time meandering around here.

I used to love football outsiders, although I just eventually get cranky about all of em lol... I've gotten to this zen place of "the game is the game, it is not the memory of the game or the prediction of the game ommnmmm" that kind of attitude... But on the way there, FO helped keep me stat-sane. Value over replacement is way more useful than "he's real good" raw stats for some purposes.

I smell a 40 burger!

unfortunately not the good kind for us!

Prediction: We're going to upset the Ravens and get to 4-5.

Doesn't mean I think we're winning the superbowl. I just think we're going to pull this one off.
For years the extreme dislike between these teams has worked to the Ravens’ advantage as the underdog. Now I think it works in the opposite direction. Look for a tight game.

We match up extra terribly against Baltimore. Can’t see how we’d win. Then again I said the same thing about KC and we really should have won that game.

Anything can happen. The Pats have been played poorly and we have five losses but if you look at the scoreboard there are several close losses outside of the 49ers.

baltimores a way tougher matchup than kc for us though. Everything they do well, we are really bad at . Our defense is designed to stop teams like kc (with Gilmore in there) so I wasn’t that suprised when we stopped mahomes. Id be shocked if we held this offense down anywhere near as well. This will take one of those vintage bb performances to get this defense to hold the ravens under 25 points. Or exhibit great ball control ourselves and keep their offense on the bench.
