Week 9: We Are On To The Jets

I'm talking only about a 2-14 finish and nothing else. That's 13 losses in a row, 2 to the Jets. All would be legit since as you know Bill is not tanking. Exactly nobody looked at the Pats roster in the summer and said this was a 14 loss team.

The reason why I say that is comparing him to his peers. The greats have had an off season here and there but not 2-14. Shula never had a 2-14 season. Neither did Parcells. Neither did Brown. Neither did Lombardi. Walsh did but that was his first year only and he inherited a horrible team. Noll - ditto.

Coaches get fired at 2-14 a lot more often than not. The GOAT coach should not have a stain like that on his resume even after losing the GOAT QB. Yes he has 6 SB's but now optics without Brady....

Yeah you’re right it doesn’t look as good now as before, as some of these teams have played better than I expected. But.
I simply cannot see how you say those other games aren’t winnable. That doesn’t make sense. It just came down to the last play in Buffalo and bills at home isn’t even winnable? Chargers isn’t winnable? In Miami isn’t winnable? I just don’t see how you say we have zero chance in those.
I remember the 5-11 season in 2000 and the team was close in most of those losses. That's often the difference between a winning and losing team, winning teams can win the close ones.

A few things ...

1.) BB has yet to go 2-14, ever.
2.) None of the coaches you mentioned above have ever coached during a global pandemic after losing two defensive cornerstones to said pandemic.
3.) I still cannot believe that anyone ... A-N-Y-O-N-E ... is entertaining the idea of firing Belichick, the coach who has won a Super Bowl in 30% of his 20 seasons coached in New England, and appeared in a Super Bowl in 45% of those seasons.

But 5-11 is pretty different from losing all remaining non-jets games. We’ve played closer to a 5-11 pace than losing every game. It’s unlikely that we lose every game.

But how many years of 2-14, 4-12, 6-10 should even Kraft tolerate?
I doubt Bill stays if he starts having seasons like that. We have this season to be crappy. Next year if we don't at least go 8-8 and have some sort of an answer at QB, Bill is gone by his own will. He won't stay here and suck post-Brady. That is pretty much what his excuses this year is telling us IMO.

Because now the injuries are stating to pile-up...Our best CB & our best Front-6/7 player won't dress tonight...Morale is at a season-low...Defense is a complete mess and the running game - our only facet of offense not totally worthless - will face a Jete front-6/7 that's actually not too bad...

The game at the Swamp that year is a good example...No way they should've lost that one...
