OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

You shouldn't look past opponents because of their poor record, look what happened to Green Bay, they got shocked at home. Games like that exist, that is also fair warning to foes looking past the patriots.

There‘s no actual evidence that teams play below their standard because they are overconfident or unfocused.

It’s easy to just pick out some underdog wins and say the favorite was overconfident, but is that the actual reason for the result? Most of the time people warn about “trap games” the favorite wins as expected, but when the favorite loses they claim it was because of the trap/over,ooking situation. It‘s confirmation bias, imo.

Godwin the most important non QB offensive player on that team. It looks completely different when he's not playing.

Some friends I know who told me that Brady would have 15-18 interceptions total and around 10 by mid season by playing in Arians offense need to eat some crow.

I haven't looked at their winning percentage the last few years but I saw some Buccaneers fans talking about how the team always plays terrible in cold weather.

A giant amount of crow. 20 TDs, 4 Ints (5:1 Ratio), and a stat on MNF said he's #1 in the league in tight windows throws. He's as accurate as ever, throwing deep and is incredibly efficient. May be one of his top 5 seasons when all is said and done. Happy to see him killing it, at 43 no less

Max Kellerman's new name....FARTMOUTH...somebody should grab this geek by his scrawny neck, pull him into a dark alley and pummel his face with lefts and rights until he craps his pants

Lol @ Joe Judge complaining about the no-call. The ball hit Winfield's arm at the same time he made contact with the WR. No way in hell you call that DPI.
Refs picked up a flag on the Logan Ryan hit on Johnson.

Sad that watching Tamper & Jints I see more Pats names that I know than with Pats 2020.
Comes from not following in pre-season. Glad to see Logan & Damian lose. Really hate the Jints.
The 4th for Gronkowski in retrospect was a good trade for Tamper.
TFB on a roll. Gotta smoke Brees.

All those stalled drives last night end up in 7 points once Godwin and Brown are playing. Pretty sure DC’s will be ****ting themselves when they go empty with Evans/Godwin/Brown/Miller/Gronk

I’m excited to see it. It’s going to be awesome to see that group. I think AB will be the #1 receiver within a few weeks and they’ll start blowing out every team by halftime.

The only thing they’re lacking is a good pass catching back which would really shake things up when defenses have to push the safeties back and/or also provide an extra blocker. Jones and Fournette aren’t quick enough in open field or very good at catching (Jones really sucks.) Vaughn should play more. They need a Faulk/White option out there, and it’s frustrating how they mis-use running backs with some 1990s smash mouth concept.

Too bad Shady is washed. He would have been perfect for that role otherwise.

I’m sure we’ll be seeing the Ronald Jones HB Dive every first down still

Brady is on pace for 40TDs and 8 picks. Pretty impressive at 43. This team is starting to show its character too. Tough game last night getting down 14-3 early. They did not panic or take dumb penalties. They methodically clawed their way back into the game and then made the plays to win at the end. It is stunning how much they are morphing into the Pats. Brady has really been able to transfer the culture there and has the team believing. I can't wait to see what they do with AB.

I only saw the highlights on the Giants game but the Bucs seem to have some pretty good WR's other than Evans

This was going into last night, and it doesn‘t even account for the excessive PI penalties:

Yet his overall YPA is only 7.1.

A lot of it is because Jones sucks as a receiving threat...

He has 27 targets, which is a lot (Mike Evans only has 39), and is averaging a horrendous 3.2 yards per target. Somewhere around 6 yards per target is pretty good for a RB. Fournette is actually doing better than I thought at 5.4 ypt. He is also averaging 4.9 ypc to Jones 4.6 ypc.

Yet despite Fournette being a far superior receiving back and a better runner, Jones has 128 touches to Fournette’s 48.
