Question about Jakobi

Maybe the coaches were barking up the wrong tree but had a paws for thought and now think he is a good retriever

maybe he wasnt doing enough in practice... maybe he wasnt being consistent enough during it. That would be my first guess

Plus he isnt an athletic freak, so my guess is the data doesnt see a lot of upside in his game

Im hoping hes out of doghouse and starts hanging with the cats from now in

I think he had a shoulder injury earlier in the year that set him back. He was wearing a red non-contact jersey during most, if not all, of training camp. After that it took a few weeks to get up to speed.

Myers ran a 4.6second 40 yard dash at the combine so he will never stretch the field. His 7.07sec 3-cone is quite good. So he is a short to medium distance underneath guy. 6'1.5" so he is not short, but not strong, so lanky might be a good word? If nearly 6'2" can be lanky.

Harry is taller, bigger, faster, quicker and stronger.

- Last year, he made Tompa sad
-This year, by comparison, he makes the 1st round WR look bad

Draft status matters. 1st round picks will get every opportunity to prove themselves while UDFAs need to take advantage when/if they get a chance to.

  • 13.1 career yards per reception
  • 63.8% career catch rate
  • 1.96 yards per route run (34th out of 112)
From training camp to on the field he’s done nothing to dissuade he can’t be a pretty good WR3. The start of his career reminds me of BJGE - an UDFA who was behind a disappointing 1st round pick.

Hope he finishes out the season strong as it would be one less hole to fill in the offseason.

coaches stubbornly trying to go to Nkeal to justify his draft status perhaps

Wasn’t he not practicing fully until recently?

He has played well in every opportunity (except maybe HOU last season) he's been given going back to preseason 2019. There's no reason he shouldn't have been used more before now, and he should remain on the field moving forward.

Why does he instantly fall down or dive on every catch? Is it where Cam is putting the ball? Brandon Lloyd-itis?

He's tough, he's got good hands, and he's willing to take hits.

We saw him work well with Brady last year until the OL got banged up, and then Jakobi's game became useless.

...but doesn't know - or want to know - how to play the position at the NFL level...
