Contract negotiations with Brady have always been between Kraft and BB. To a certain extent Kraft has let BB play the bad cop role to his good cop, but the point is they’re generally in this together. If Kraft didn’t see eye to eye with BB on salary commitment issues, he would never have hired him to begin with. That was one of the things that really struck Kraft about BB when he fit’s got to know him.
Kraft was hesitant to give Brady guaranteed big money at his age. Not just Belichick, but Kraft.
In that case, he should have given up on Cam Newton in 2017.BB has always given up on players a year before they become more ineffective rather than a year late.
While I love Brady I have to be honest, when I look at that Bucs team and which players I'd want most to improve this version of the Patriots, I'd go for Lavonte David and one of Goodwin/Evans.
Brady is obviously not as good as he was in 2016/17 anymore when he was playing as well as any QB has ever had in this league. Take off the homer glasses. The difference is only that he now has better weapons to work with. Let him work with what Cam Newton was working with today and he'd have looked as helpless as he did at times last year.
In that case, he should have given up on Cam Newton in 2017.
So BB f'ed by not offering brady the money or not surrounding him with weapons ? Because under our cap situation i dont think both wouldve worked. They might have given brady 2yr 50 mil but would be okay working without gronk, an ageing edelman and a some rookie wideouts? breaking the bank on on side of the ball ha snever been the pats philosophy, for better or worse. Again, if josh gordon and antonio brown had stayed with the pats all season last yr who knows how things turn out. instead in the middle of the season brady is working with meyers and harry and all . This inspite of the fact he knew last yr beginning was his last in NE.
Not everyone, just the Patsfans BB Homer clique-shall I name names? When we said that last year (that Brady’s offensive supporting cast was pathetic) everyone said Brady was just old and declining.
How is 1yr $23m affordable but 2yr $50m breaks the bank. The math doesn’t work. The debate was on how fast Brady fades and whether we screw ourselves for 2021 not 2020.
Bottomline: if we could have afforded Brady for 1yr $23m then we could have afford him for 2yr $50m. We just didn’t want him.
And we were wrong. Fck BB and fck Kraft.
Bucs would go 19-0 if BB was their coachIt’s interesting to watch New England and Tampa back to back.
They are such opposites. Tampa has a **** ton of talent and is oozing with young talent...great front 7, not great secondary, great skill players. New England is bleeding out from barren drafts...not great front 7, great secondary, ****ty skill players. Tampa so undisciplined and New England so disciplined. Belichick the best coach in the league and Arians among the worst.
No, the dummy would have traded half the talent so he could stockpile 3rd rd db picks no one has ever heard of!Bucs would go 19-0 if BB was their coach
You definitely should. You should @ them as well. Not everyone, just the Patsfans BB Homer clique-shall I name names?
