Words on things I watched, read & heard

I swear some coaches get scared of size. It's a mental thing. It took 30 years for big guys to get off the block in the NBA. I feel like we see some of the same problems in the NFL. If you're drafting a prospect top 10 shouldn't you be on point with how you might utilize his skills? Idk I can't imagine ever being in this situation as a GM my head would explode. So many players, options to choose from. Don't get caught in a situation like this.

I honestly was very surprised with that pick..I really thought they would go OT with that Pick..

I could see it. I'm just surprised at how some of the brightest minds, seemingly struggle. Huge lottery pick, should be a cornerstone prospect you feel great about ... They had him playing inside linebacker this summer haha.
Idk it's still early but coming off Riddick you'd think they would have had a clear plan & back-up plan with Simmons.

Yeah kind of a prospect you built your defense around..theoretically they can use him everywhery so maybe bc of his versality they are Not sure..

His stats from senior year. Averaged almost 20 per clip some games

I thought I remember Jerome Bettis having insane highschool stats as well, ill have to look those up this weekend and compare.. i'd probly just call out sick that day having to play against those guys lol

Yea I would have liked to see him concentrate on S. Really focus on something, get comfortable, some confidence. Idk the game is hard enough but its still very early.

Yeah bettet than learning two positions at the Same time. Their need at LB is probably higher but Idk

The carries on some of those games. Did they even run a QB out there?

Yea he's had like 5K carries since high school. I know he clowns a lot of people but he must have taken some nice shots over the past 10-12 years.

"The Bengals, ranked 17th in run defense DVOA (football outsider’s efficiency metric) before they played the Ravens, managed to hold the vaunted Ravens offense to only 20 points (Patrick Queen scored a defensive TD on a 53-yard fumble return), which is even more impressive considering the Bengals offense turned the ball over three times.

“(The Bengals) did do something completely different. They were in a true college 4-3 type of look,” head coach John Harbaugh said after the game. “They were playing quarters with the safeties low. They played it in the past but they hadn’t played it yet this year.”

Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo kept his base personnel on the field with three linebackers.

Cincinnati’s linebackers used what’s commonly referred to as “lever, spill, lever” fits to defend the Ravens run game. In the image above, Ricard lined up to the left and led in that direction so all three linebackers flowed that way. The play-side linebacker (farthest left) was the lever player and his job was to get outside and contain the play. The middle linebacker is the “spill” player and his job is to try to get the ball to bounce outside and pursue inside to outside. The backside linebacker (furthest right) is the last “lever” player and his job is to scrape across the formation.

MOFO = Middle OF Field Open as opposed to MOFC = Middle Of Field Closed

Really surprised & disappointed by these #s...RB is our deepest skill group, so we actually need to use MORE 2-Back formations AND somehow make that work...because 3+ WR formations and 2-TE formations ain't gonna work no matter how often they try...

Definitely get were you're coming from. I believe these #'s would probably be reflected league wide tbh. I think the only way it works is if one had top tier rec skills. I wonder how much we see Bell/CEH together but I can absolutely see that working bc both great at rec and can run legit routes. They're unfair, so much talent. But yeah I think you need an elite rec back to make 2RB work. Ideally it would be Rex & White for us?

It would be something I'd use early on.

Tyron Smith is a master at this move. Helps having vines for arms but he pulled it off so nice. OL/DL using the same move to beat each other. Have to love it.

What a freaking play!

Inside zone

Bell is elite is pass pro. His vision and readiness is top notch. No hesitation, always looking for work like an OL

I enjoyed his trade suppositions, I wonder if he missed 2 opportunities to improve the TE position. With Dugger's fast start, he makes Terrance Brooks available and I think he'd be a better fit for Cleveland than what he gave the Browns and we'd get N'jokuo. A win-win for both teams. And if the going price for Jacob Hollister is a bag of donuts, why not here? And at WR, I think I'd rather Kenny Stills than Ross.
