Brady has played well for the Bucs so far and is clearly not washed up as some had claimed yet he is also not top 5 in the league at this point either. Whether or not he is able to find that connection with his skill position players by years end is still to be determined. Tampa Bay seems to be in a similar tier as the Patriots at the moment. Both seem to be in tier 2 in their conferences with a couple teams clearly above them and a bunch of teams in similar positions. The Pats have historically been able to pull the pieces together better than just about every team at this point in the season and we'll see if that hold true this year as well. With the challenges of COVID and injuries across the league being able to win those close games when the breaks go your way probably means more this year than usual.

Good summary. What is tough for the Pats this year is there are so many good teams in the AFC. The North alone has 3 teams that are 4-0, 4-1, 4-1. Normally that would not matter because we would win the division but the Bills are also undefeated and Allen looks to have taken that next step in his progression. It is tough to predict without Brady because he always got better and played more clutch as the season went on and the games became bigger.
Tampa is a wild card. They could go either way. Arians figures things out and they play better and the injuries subside or things continue and they are a middler team vying for the last WC spot. They have the benefit of a weaker division than the Pats so they could win 10 games and potentially win the division.

If you want I can become negative and start picking on your boy toy. I came back because this is on the main page of the forum and I read about everything on here. PS, I don't read the nfl forum usually, so if you post there I probably won't ever see it. I didn't come back to be negative, rather to defend my earlier statements. Which weren't negative at the time I posted them and still aren't, but seem to be somewhat accurate looking back.

Tom Brady is an amazing qb. It is sad he left, and sad he didn't retire a patriot.

That all being said, if you post stupid gang green in August type posts about the Bucs being odds on favorites to win the superbowl, and the Bucs are just going to get better and better, and that Denver win shows what kind of team the Bucs really are, then expect discussion and debate, that is what you get on an internet forum. Especially when you attack the people who posted it, and they are proven to be at least somewhat accurate. If you can't handle that you probably shouldn't be posting here.

I think you have me confused with someone who cares if you stay or go. I just thought it was funny how you said you were leaving this thread and then came back the very next day.

Yeah the AFCN gets the benefit of playing the NFC Least. There’s 3-4 wins for each team there and that might be good enough to get two WCs in in that division.

Pats would make it much easier on themselves if they can knock off the Bills for the division. Which is doable considering the Bills defense doesn’t look all that this year.

Bucs on paper should get to the NFCCG. Would be a disappointment for them if they don’t.

Yeah. The AFC is stacked this year.

I don't think anyone had the Bucs in the NFCCG this year, most had them in the playoffs as a WC. Most predicted the Saints to win the division but they have been struggling on defense and Brees looks a bit washed. It won't be a disappointment if the Bucs are not in the final conference game. It would be a disappointment if they missed the playoffs. Also, don't sleep on Carolina. They have won 3 in a row and look to be figuring things out.

Hoyers 2 mental errors can be easily rectified.

Stidhams INT throwing who knows.
hes an 11 year veteran QB, he shouldnt be making those mental errors because they should have been rectified like 6 years ago

I'm not going to judge too much Stidham in a Covid regulated environment although I did like some of what I saw. I do prefer him over Hoyer though.
i always liked Hoyer but I hope I never see him play QB again.
Any games Cam misses, The Lord of the Stidh should play. If he consistently sucks, we definitively know we need to act @ QB in the off season.

Then enjoy Stidhams mistake plagued 2020 season. 38% completion rate is what he is.

He does not forget about timeouts because the other team catches his passes.

But Brady being a "good' QB is like Tiger Woods being a "good" PGA pro who is happy to make the cut and contend occasionally. The look isn't what one wants to see from GOATS.

And he isn't old enough to be having senior moments like Brady :ninja:

Yes, but that is what professional football is. Managing your team, which includes your roster when injuries can and will happen. Having players available to step in and step up, while realizing every other team in the league is going to be going through the same exact process. Realizing that dumping money into an ancient qb and a tight end coming out of retirement comes with a bunch of risk to go along with the possible reward.

Most of the posters on this thread aren't here for debate and discussion, they're here for praise and validation.

They are connecting to Tompa Bay based on emotion rather than logic, you can tell by the stuff they post.

They won't respond to points raised about on the field play or team building stuff with intelligent rebuttals.

They will respond with childish name calling and mockery, which speaks volumes.

In other words: “Look at me!” Tom must feel left out from the attention LeBron is getting.

That's putting the bar pretty low. Tampa handing out $60M guaranteed for Brady+Gronk, and Brady leaving the Pats, just so they could make the playoffs?

That is awesome. Love that Brady can make fun of himself while also congratulating Lebron.
Yeah, it's good he's embracing the moment, rather than being in denial like he was after the game. It's a much better look.

They were 5-11 the last two years, all they have had is two one-and-done wild card appearances since their SB win in 2002

Getting to the playoffs would be a big thing for them.

They already have three wins and four gimme games (NYG, DET, 2*ATL) on the schedule so that's seven.

Taking three out of the rest (GB, LV, NO, CAR, LAR, KC and MIN) should get them to 10 wins and seems quite doable.

Heck, given seven playoff spots, it might not even take 10 wins.

Not really. The Saints were the top team in the division. Tough to make it all the way through as a WC and then having Covid on top. Bar was already low in Tampa so playoffs with one win would be a success. Year 2 would be when you would expect to see a jump unless the lowered cap torpedoes all the teams which is likely.

Dude, stop. Just stop. This is such a passive aggressive, illogical and unnecessarily inflammatory post. “Most of the posters in this thread” as you so succinctly put, are long time Patriot fans who for one reason or another still have a great appreciation and/or fondness for the player who brought them the greatest times in football they ever could have imagined.
I have seen many responses to your opinions on play or team, you discredit them simply because they do not concur with what your opinions are.
Just because the way posters debate or discuss something is not the way you feel they should, does not mean it’s not debate or discussion. Connecting to a team based on emotion is just as valid as connecting based on logic.
Honestly, your strictures on how people in this thread should operate are extremely unrealistic- also, veiled insults about others intelligence based off nothing but your personal opinions is not a very good look.

I won't stop, but I do value your feedback, some of it is fair, some of it is less so. I'll point out you are validating my point that people are responding based on emotion, which is what the poster I'm responding to seems to be missing and maybe me too, till I made that post. Maybe I'm just not as emotional about fandom as others are, so I don't pick up on it very well. See, I just made a veiled insult about myself.
