Words on things I watched, read & heard

PFF has been really off at times this year but they have Wynn as a top 8 in pass pro. Top 15 in run blocking. Not bad at all for a midget playing LT. I think he has top 10 overall potential at tackle.

Thuney is a top 10 G in PFF eyes and I imagine in everyone else eyes as well. Pay the man.

Last night - We made Mahomes hold the ball at least as long as the Chargers game I watched last week so that's a plus and again a clear indication that Bill can slow down this attack. This is big bc Bradley plays Mahomes as well as anyone. Add Bill to that list.
The key is not making him pay - he tossed a few stinkers but we made him hold the ball / limited the big play for the most part. Lots of man-match/hand offs in the secondary. Great level play at the los (making sure you don't make locked off by switches/rubs). And great job taking away the underneath but esp MOF/deep MOF.
...

PFF - forcing Mahomes to hold onto the ball for 3.59 seconds per dropback on average, his longest single-game mark this season and the second-longest single-game mark of his career.

Further proof that we need another Closer at DE...

Not sure what I'm looking at here...

We should be snapping the ball with somebody in motion - or in a bunch formation - 2 out of every 3 plays...

Hogan's Heroes was a comedy spinoff of the famous film Stalag 17 starring William Holden. The creators of H.H. got sued and won in court but it's quite obvious...a Sgt Schultz in the movie drama and the TV show. Just goes to show you, screenplays are like football plays...you never know how the ref will call it.
Yep...Hell, Emma Thompson won a Golden Globe for Best Screenplay of...Sense & Sensibility?!?

Nice little pickup by the Brownies of Wyatt Teller & a 7th-rounder from Barfalo in exchange for 5th- & 6th-rounders.

Just thought you’d bless us with some of your foozball expertise...but if it’s pretty self-explanatory, so be it ;)
Absolutely I just wasn't sure if it was something specific or what. I just like talking fooxball all together, definitely no expert, not the brightest bulb.

So a few things catch my eye immediately.

1)Only NEP have this secondary/personnel. Not many teams can hang with KC in tight press/off man all game or even a few plays. We can.

2) Two man side - Slant/Kelce - Flat/CEH. Immediate reroute/big time contact there. Win for us.

3)Trips - 31 bails slightly at the last second so him & JC don't get picked. This is key bc essentially we're forcing Mahomes there bc of reroute & the fact that we took away the underneath. So he has to make a big time throw. And we have S help there. Again nice design / execution by us.

4)Has to be highlighted again. Dropping 8 and reroute on Kelce in route takes away crossers. Flat covered. Only rushed but still decent again contain with Wino on the other side!

5)Loved the pressure we got off 2 rushers. Wise had excellent hand usage and placement. Just walked his man back. Butler almost best that late pick up. Nice rush. Looks like a violent chop than swim to finish.

It's been said but Bill built NEP to beat KC and he's absolutely right to do so. KC is just a different animal. Stacked across the board. Super talented. Great coaches. I mean it's not just Andy. Spags, Bienieny, Daly, Giradi ... Everyone knows how well coached they are. Andy is amazing but he has a great staff.

Appreciate you posting cool stuff

Wynn - So quick, he shoots out his stance, often the first off the ball. Quick feet, quick/accurate strikes despite giving up length. Has some pop in his strikes. Grip strength has been great. Just so quick out of his stance but so balanced for the redirect/counter. I'd have to give him an B+/A- so far.

Thuney- is clutch. I mean he's reaching at NT at C at one point. Pulling, climbing taking on smaller, quicker players. Always talking. Him & Wynn are so on point handling pressure. We have to keep him.

Onwenu - I noticed his hand work/fighting was a lot better this game. Maybe bc it was more in display but it stood out a few plays. One play taking on Nnadi/91 from KC I believe. He was also very aware of what's going on around him. Hands are moving. Thats another thing our guys hands are always moving. Drag hand (3rd eye for OL) or we but our hands are busy. He was making sure Herron had a litttle help when he could chip in. Talk about making contact and making it count! He's a bull in space.

Herron looked smooth & balanced. He fit right in. That right side was a + in my eyes all things considering. Ferentz was cutting a few guys off and very chirpy. Very talkative. Our while OL was communicating big time.

I'll post more tomorrow after work when I can but always look at OL/DL first (that's really all I care about :))

Here's some pass pro & run game highlights (runs of 5 or more yards)

Check out the double trap block in the run video! (2nd play) Double Trap - 71 takes on 0T - 62 takes on DE. Onwenu just rag dolls 91 who is pretty strong himself. Big time power.

Mostly quick passes - what isn't nowadays but again our line is legit. I mean we still have so much to prove but from the summer to now we have to be happy with health and progress.

During both clips I was focusing on the C-RG-RT instead of on the LG-LT...Very very encouraging, though I am trying to temper my enthusiasm by reminding myself that KC's DL (& their OL too) were manned by players half of whose names I didn't even recognize...

Few individual plays that were also above.

Fwiw, Fold/Trap are often grouped together depending on the front/coach. Folds can become traps in certain instances. Again some coaches/systems group them together. I just recognized this double trap or fold from seeing it so many times before here and around the league.
It's actually pretty crazy you have long, short split, kick, lead and about 10 different more types of folds/traps.

Nice observation here ... I thought this was his best game by far. His hand work/fighting, balance and ability to work in space (like below) was fantastic. I thought he was getting too much love from PFF but still playing at a high level. He stood out against KC. Big time enforcer and obviously coachable. He's been all over the line. That doesn't happen without serious trust, communication and smarts on his and the coaches end.
