NFL is willing to “bubble” teams inside hotels for the rest of the season

Goodell makes no decisions unilaterally. You're falling for it again. What he does is the will of the majority of the owners. He is paid for exactly what's going on here. Being an easy target for the decisions of HIS bosses.
Bingo. Although, he's still a spineless hypocrit. He deserves nothing but contempt and vitriol. He willingly does the devil's work.

You can't feasibly put the NFL in a bubble. Nevermind the fact that one division equates to the totality of NBA rosters, the brutal nature of the game dictates hospital visits. First responders at practices, let alone games. BB's notorious "shadow roster," anyone? Lol. Lets say the nfl bubbles teams in fl + texas, what happens to NE players and MA's ******** stance on taxes since covid started. So much for "no taxation without representation."

So we have an outbreak on the Titans and very possible on the Patriots too. One more and the plug will be pulled on the season.
Well, we got the “one more.” They are going to check to see if it is a false positive but I don’t see any talk of shutting down the season if it is a true positive.

Been a tough year for goddell....

Jets are winless and doing so while being embarrassing.
Jerry Jones is still banging his wife.
his dog keeps urinating in goddell’s bed.
Kraft got off on the happy ending case.
And he gets to watch bb in a bunch of subway commercials!

Multiple coaches have suggested this weekend the possibility of pressing pause on the season, reconfiguring the schedule to have 12 total regular-season games, and putting teams in hotels for the nine games left to be played.

3200+ people bubbled for 4 months?

Yeah that’s a simple solution. All these people you’re suggesting hole up aren’t millionaires. What about the ball boys, the assistants, the practice squad guys. Just say bye to your lives and family until we’re done with you.

Good point. They will need to be paid extra. Of course they could quit as others have said, but ideally they would be compensated fairly. Yes it sucks, but people travel over seas for business all the time and don't see their family for weeks or months so it isn't like this doesn't happen in many jobs. Also they could rotate those positions. Each time highers an extra ball boy say, and for one month one of them gets to stay home. Of course they need to come back an be isolated for 2 weeks after, but it's doable. In today's world with Skype and Zoom calls it wouldn't be as bad.

The season is not in jeopardy. And it is a fallacy to blame ownership for this. As mentioned in the article, it was the Union who refused to go for the "bubble" idea.

That's according to "sources."

What they likely balked at was footing any part of the bill. If you're going to tell me that the NFLPA refused to provide its players with additional safety measures, I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

The owners would pay for this.

The NBA and NHL already does this. Only reason NFL didn't is because the whining billionaires wouldn't put up for the expenses. And now the season is in jeopardy.
You’re high as a kite if you think everyday people are going to hide out from their friends and family for 6 months to avoid an illness that’s 99.9% survivable so long as you’re under 70

Just an absolutely ridiculous proposition

And for the love of God, have some empathy and bubble some hookers in there with em, and let married people have a hooker-free bubble.

You have got to be joking. If you think we are just 1 positive test on a 3rd team away from canceling the entire season, you are just not living in reality.

The absolute very worst we will see is a suspension of all games to implement new protocols, and even that isn't currently on the radar screen.

I didn’t say one positive test I said outbreak. The league will not be able to handle that especially when it comes to cancelling and shuffling games

@GreenCow

Mooooooooooooooooooooo

I don’t understand?

You’re celebrating a players injury in a thread about Covid?

It's not that they're scared of the virus. It's that the nfl wont let you play if you test positive.

Yeah I don’t understand the cow references either.

But hey, troll away!

You’re completely making things up out of thin air.

If you’re going to tell me the Players wanted to be separated from their family for the majority of the next 6 months and it was the League who refused, I have some swampland in Florida to sell you.

You’re dreaming if you think we are that close to canceling the entire season.

And of course they can handle rescheduling games. They can always push things back if needed.
