LOL. How about healthy Oline and Brady easily beats Tenn?

Bradyites love making excuses for their hero don't they.

I'd rather just admit he sucked because well, he did.

Not sure where to put this but an unstoppable goal-line play idea:
- Newton under center, with RB Harris behind him.
- Harry placed out wide (stretch the defense), and Edelman next to Harry in the slot.

Play possibilities:
- Newton sneak or Harris run
- Newton play action, fake the run and pass
- Newton play action, rollout scramble
- Quick throw to Edelman with Harry blocking
- Quick throw to Harry with Edelman blocking

Wouldn't this play end up dominating defenses? You draw out 2 defenders away from the box to have to cover Harry and Edelman. Make it easier for Cam to run it in himself, or the defense has to bite on play action then you have an easy 5 yard throw to someone in the endzone.

.

How can any fan of a team be anti- the guy most responsible for that team having unquestionably the greatest run of success in the history of the sport?

Brady and Belichick get equal credit for that. And saying he sucked last year isn’t being anti-anyone it’s saying a fact.

Change it to tied for most responsible if you wish. Still doesn’t explain why you spend so much time trashing him. Do you not appreciate his greatness and it’s impact on this franchise? Or are you just Karening?

Im not trashing anyone.

If you dare say anything negative about Tom Terrific that’s trashing him to some.

Thing is, Brady is the GOAT but he is also still human. That means he’s not perfect. There are those who worship him and cannot abide anyone pointing out his imperfections. You’ve got to realize that’s their problem not yours, just ignore them.

By definition you are. Why not own it.

There is a difference between imperfect and “admit he sucked, because he did”

Then your definition of “trashing” is very different than mine.
Saying someone sucks cannot be denied as trashing.

I see Newton and the offense being a real pain in the a** for defenses, but BB needs to trade for a WR give Edelman a break. He would've caught that TD pass on the final drive if he wasn't so exhausted. Harry needs more looks with intermediate/deeper routes like he did on the final drive. Enough with the jet sweep, bubble screens. RB's need to get better.

And yes, extend Newton by week 8 if they in playoff contention/division winner. I see Newton as the immediate future of this team. Aside from the idiot GM's not trading a measly 4th rounder for Trent Williams, not signing Cam was the biggest blunder for GM's this off season.
I think we all need to come to the realization that Cam will not be here next year. This is Revis all over again. It is a business arrangement which is why Cam is so happy talking about respect and not caring about money. He is going to get paid. Just like Revis. We get Cam on the cheap for this year as a bridge QB and he uses us to perform well and hit the market for his big pay day. Bill is not paying him $30 mil+.

Who says he's Revis? Every media person has suggested Cam has matured over the years. Besides, he was never a "me first" type player like Revis was, so not sure where you are getting that. And who says he won't take less than $30 million per year? Or are you just assuming?

My $0.02:

Most of the posts are about what other teams pay their QBs and what other teams would offer Cam.

Most people are probably listening to sports talk mediots too much.

Most of the posters still don't seem to understand that BB does not think like the rest of the league.

BB won't spend the going rate ($30M+) for a starting QB on Cam or anyone else.

BB will convince himself he can use $30M+ and get four or more different guys at various stages of their careers and make the whole team a lot better than spending it all on one player even a QB like Cam.

We are still one of the oldest teams in the league and there's still a lot of rebuilding to be done in the near future.

Bill ain't a stars and scrubs kind of team builder, he's a value shopper.

Cam won't see what NE did by signing him as a sign of commitment, he'll see it as them getting lucky and him out performing the low ball contract he had no option but to sign.

I'm sure Cam understands the value of the coaching and of the organization but he also knows it's probably his last big bite of the apple.

I understand his family didn't move so I don't think he's setting up roots here.

I think he sees it as a one year prove it deal and he's gonna live up to his part of the bargain then go out and see how much some other team will pay him on a nice fat contract to be in a situation he gets to choose.

Kinda like what Brady just did.

I think Cam will feel he can take whatever he learned from playing here and take it with him to his next opportunity, just like Brady just did.

I think a lot of people need to internalize that the most likely outcome is still Cam playing one year here then testing the market.
You have to realize a lot of what you are saying is enabled by Brady taking a discount for a long time (and Bill did need to pay Brady for his first big contract initially).

At some point Bill will have to pay a QB. Whether it is Cam, or Stidham two years from now, or some other draft picks. It’s not sustainable to cycle through QB’s the way you can with defensive players. Nobody succeeds that way, not even Bill

We an franchise tag Newton for $25m next year :excited:

I think there's a strong chance he's going to try. He was ready to roll with Stidham till Cam's price was right.

You are right Brady's discount did fund a lot of the depth we had on the team. It also kept people like Revis from expecting more than what he got from BB.

I think Kraft drove BB to give Brady a near top of market contract. I'm pretty sure that won't happen again.
