With JJ Taylor looking like he belongs and Damien Harris due back before too terribly long, I'm going to guess the Lamar Miller ship has sailed. The Patriots guaranteed him $200k, but that would be entirely offset if he spends a month on an active roster.

Looks like the Stefon Diggs approach from last year

Robinson is 27 and realizes this is his last chance for a big contract. Can't blame him if the Bears are not going to pay him. The issue across the league, Ertz included, is that the players are looking at a drop in the Cap next year so some guys are not going to get paid only because of the timing. Tough situation. You have to imagine that some teams will push money into 2022 to even out the decrease, but that does not actually help a lot. I have not read any analysis of the effect of the drop in 2021, and how teams can spread the drop into 2022, so I am guessing.

There might be some real deals available for the teams that have Cap room in 2021/2022 (BB says Hi).

I agree. This trade deadline and the upcoming FA period is a pretty big opportunity to level up your team with good talent for less compensation (whether that is trade assets or money) than usual.

It's Francesa so his source could be his own bowel movement. On the other hand since OBJ spent a couple years in NY maybe there is something true to it.

He'd cost less than 14M this year (depending on when he would be traded) and then about 15.5. 14.75, 14.75 the following years with no dead money. So kinda costly but it all depends on what compensation the Browns are realistically looking for.

He clearly has a lot of respect for BB and is close with Cam. So let the great meltdown commence..

EDIT:

I don’t expect the Patriots to trade for OBJ or Robinson, but if they did, who would people here prefer?

You have to think Robinson is dying to play with a quality QB. He’s been stuck with Blake Bortles and Mitch Trubisky most of his career.

OBJ if it's less than a 1st rounder.

I'd be happy with Robinson though.

Beckham because he comes on a longer deal that will look pretty friendly in a while. Since AR wants a new market level contract there is a good chance he would just be a rental.

The other thing with OBJ is that as said above he is close with Cam which I would see as a bonus.
