I'm not going to do a mass Brady thread but we will try and condense like topics into one thread. This is obviously a semi-dead time right now so I'm trying to ease up a little on those types of things. But I agree with you, I'll definitely keep an eye on that.

TYVM for considering it Ian. I appreciate your work on the forum.

What would be helpful is a source (s) of technical references eg a library or links to sites or literature regarding the x and o's of football eg what a 5 technique line man is and what is his role. I have tried to find a good source myself and although there are single paragraph examples I have not been able to find anything detailed...........

lol...maybe I should ask gronk for a source or supply of playbooks ;)

A nice to have but if this means a load of work then no probs just disregard.
I've been thinking about making a thread like this.

Pats running outside zone, sail, flood etc posting clips of the A22. Was thinking it could be pinned at the top. Lot of work but there should be something like that.

It is a ton of work. No doubt.

Why limit it to country or U.S. State? How about being a bit more expansive and including options like city, home planet or state of mind?

Examples:

@maust1013
Confusion

@fnordcircle
Uranus

@IllegalContact
Never U F'n Mind

@primetime
Moscow

@robertweathers
Dudelandia

@Steve:Section 102
Lannisport

@Joker
Bedrock

@chris_in_sunnyvale
Regards

@Ring 6
Johnsonville

@Patsfanin Philly
Virginia

@PatsFanInVa
Philly

@PatriotsReign
Enlightenment

@Tony2046
Thumbytown

@venecol
Medellin

@QuantumMechanic
X Marks The Spot

@Ice_Ice_Brady
Lower Upper Crust Falls

@Clonamery
Right Behind You

Well, you probably get the idea by now...

(No need to get up, I'll show myself out )

Changed. Thanks for the idea.

Hi Ian,

Interesting thought on the mass threads. If you can set them up so they would go in a folder such as all Brady threads being filtered into the Brady folder. You would also have to have a way the folders would show on the forum. Not sure if it is possible, but would certainly clean up the forums and you would only have one folder to open to see all Brady threads.

Just a strange thought that came to me not sure how forum coding works. Long ago believe me it was long ago I did something like this with databases. I am way behind the curve on coding now. Good luck! you do a great job here.

I already know when i'm not interested in the thread by its' title. Unless i'm missing something I still have to open the thread to hit the ignore button. Can you eliminate this step and just make it so you can ignore withoot having to open the thread?

I'll check into that and see how it's set up in this new version. If it's not, I'll see if I can add it. :cool:

I'll have to see. I'm sure I can do something custom outside the software but I'll have to look at how they're structured in terms of whether or not I can filter them out from the main feed and categorize them. But that's a good idea ;)

Just a nit, but on my MacBook Pro, running either Safari or Chrome, on the page number list at the top and bottom of a forum page, the style of the current page is not significantly different from the other pages on the list, making it difficult to ascertain what page you're on. I mentioned this some time ago, but it never got changed, which I assumed was due to a limitation of the current framework. Hopefully that can be addressed in the new version.

Some possibilites, since you asked. I'll use your name as the neutral example name...

  • Add "GFY" and "WTF icons
  • Set up a choice for ignored people, to allow (or not allow) for someone to see a thread started by people on ignore. That one, if you can do it, would actually make things easier on the mods, as it should lessen the number of duplicate threads a little. That way, if someone wants to ignore Ian, but Ian starts a lot of, say, game day threads, they'd still see the threads, but not the words.
  • Extend the ignore to ratings, so someone who's got, say, Ian, on ignore won't even see those.
  • Allow for a search to be done based upon the number of posts in a thread. vBulletin has this. If you click on the square where the number of posts in a particular thread is, it brings up a box that lists all the people who've posted in the tread, and the number of posts they've made. That would let someone go straight to those posts. So if, for example, I was posting with Ian, but went to bed, I could just pull up his posts from the thread, and pick up from the last one I'd read.
  • Allow for animated avatars
  • Fix the Twitter/Github stuff so that its use is not such a memory hog and does not cause the lock ups it causes now
  • Add an option to your site menu that keeps the new pics from automatically showing up. It might be something that just changes from an automatic addition to an opt in/opt out option.

If you want/need more, I can try to think of some. Easing up on the censorship would be a great one to add, for example.
Need an icon for "Oh, it's only Deus Irae" :evil:

Would be a good idea under the member put the country where he is from if outside Usa and the state for Usa members ?

Example
Italian Pat Patriot
Italy

"X"
Texas

Sorry if it is a bad idea...or perhaps not an easy work too...
I've seen this not go very well on other forums. You hope it would add some charm to the site, but it tends to give people something more to pick on other members with. Also, it's kind of hard for ex-pats. What if you are an Italian guy living in Scotland -- which flag do you pick?
A Jets Suck emoji.
But it's a universal truth, it'd be like having a "we breathe air" or "bears poop in the woods" emoji.

Maybe we should have a "buttfumble" emoji, for when a member really screws something up?

Any reference to the Buttfumble cheers up a Pats fan's day.

The actual framework is the hard part, although I've figured out some things since I put this original template together that might make it easier to customize other sections. I used to have different colors/styles on the old board depending on where you were so I agree, it would be nice to do something like that again. I'll see what I can do.

On the right side create a possibility to put pat patriot logo or flying elvis ? ;)

I would opt for a picture of our female member of the day, week or month.
So what do we do after we run out of female members next week?

Maybe we should have a "buttfumble" emoji, for when a member really screws something up?

Maybe? Definitely! A Buttfumble emoji should exist just for its own sake, to remind us of the beauty and majesty of life (as a non-JEST fan), how there is sometimes cosmic karmic justice meted out, how no matter how bad it gets there's always a worse place to be.

If I could have one thing, it would be a "next" button on the Page numbers at the top and bottom of the page that REMAINS on the page even when you're on the last available page. Here's how it would work (may not be possible):

In my ideal world, I am following the GDT, I catch up to the posts and I'm at the bottom of the latest page in existence (this is obviously hypothetical). The magical "Next" button allows me to press it and whenever new content becomes available on the new page, it automatically sends me to it.

Currently, when I do this, I have to keep reloading the browser page until the new page shows up, then click on the new page number. This may not be much of an issue for many people, but it's really annoying when you're in Southeast Asia and stuck on a slow internet connection.
