Kyed: Team likes Stidham more than Garoppolo

I’d love to see some of the UDFA WRs make the roster we would have so much more speed on offense.
JJ Taylor could beat out Bolden and or Burkhead for a spot on the 53 as well.

Rex, not Rex he's been my hero since I was a kid.*

Seriously he's a hard nosed player who yes will turn 30 in July but whose performance could improve with a new QB in charge.

Plus he could be a low cost extension with measured use over the next few years.

I'm curious how the offense evolves.

Was Michel secretly hurt and can Harris get some quality reps.

The young 15 OL competing for spots.

Trying to figure out if I dare to question whether Stidham could be better than Brady in working with all the WRs.

I'm officially all in on Stidham. I did kinda want Newton, but think I am fine rolling with the second year. For me, I don't need a 12-4 season to be happy. 9-7 and Stidhim showing good decision making would be enough. Heck, a losing season is fine too but I am just being greedy with keeping our winning seasons going. :D

Wow if true!

Because that is exactly how we all know and remember the GOAT. Running away from adversity is almost his trademark, amirite ?

And all that even ignores things like Brady saying he went into last year thinking it most probably is his last here and whatnot.

People on Twitter just pulling not provable "league source" out of their ass to get a couple retweets and followers.

This Saint Nick character sounds like a legit source of league news yes?

Stid is my quarterback! :D

Running "AWAY" from adversity?
28-3.
More game - winning drives than anyone in NFL history.
Down 14 pts TWICE to Baltimore in afcc..
Seattle SB?
You got some psychological issues pal.
I've never seen a QB who performed In THE FACE of adversity better than Brady.

Clearly think this is partial truth and partially ********. I would not be surprised if the kid was making plays or "outplaying" Brady in Practice. Because Brady was clearly hurt or slowed with arm tiredness/something, he never misses practice.

I highly doubt BB didn't recognize that as the reason. Now what BB may have been thinking is this kid has something. Was it enough for BB to move on from Tom? Probably not. But did it make it easier to not go full tilt to bring him back? Maybe.

But yeah I don't see Brady ever running away from a challenge. I will stick with, I think the breakup was mutual and there will be shared custody of the six kids once they find new homes in the HoF!

Time to move on and root for the kid!

Better than JG:
Patrick Mahomes
Russell Wilson
Lamar Jackson (Although as a pure Passer JG might be a better pick, and Jackson is 0-2 in the playoffs)

About the same
Matt Ryan
Aaron Rodgers
Deshawn Watson (Lets see how he looks without Hopkins)

Worse than JG:
Ryan Tannehill (Sorry but 10 good games in 7 years isn't getting a top mark)
Kirk Cousins (His #1 receiver shot his way out of town because he sucks)
Matthew Stafford
Dak Prescott(How do you have an ~#10 defense and Elite RB and go 8-8? with a top 5 QB. You don't)

Geriatrics whose arm could fall off anytime:
Drew Brees (also note Saints were 8-3 with Brees, 5-0 with Bridgewater)
Tom Brady

So honestly only 3 of 12 QBs on the list are clearly better than JG.

Now there are of course some issues with sample size when it comes to JG, but the same applies to Lamar Jackson.

So basically fairly graded JG is a top 4-8 QB. So calling JG a top 5 QB might be a bit of a stretch, but only barely.

For what it matters, JG was 11th last year in DVOA and 12th in QBR. Seems about right. Not quite top ten.

BB and Josh will give him everything to have and honestly he could be great.
Imagine they make him a top 10 QB even we would be a threat for the super bowl every year.
I’m not betting against that pair nor Stidhams Potential.
Imagine a twilight zone where Stidham kills it and BB smiles while Tom doesn’t eclipse Winstons numbers in Tampa and is a interception machine

Brady would never throw up INTs like Winston did -- but he might not throw up all those TD's either. The Tampa receivers benefited from all the reckless gunslinging Winston was doing. Wouldn't expect the same number if TD's with a less reckless QB.

Of course if Gronk plays like he did 5 years ago...

The probability that he completely blows the roof off like Mahomes is pretty low.

No one has ever come out of the gate like Mahomes. Certainly not Brady. I think we'd all be delighted if JS had a year comparable to TB's rookie year. Or JG's first full year. i.e. a better than average starter pushing the top 10.

Alternate take: he couldn't overcome the suck of Big Game Shanahan.

Good point. Not being able to score after going up 28-3 in Q3 was an epic collapse.

Give me a break.
After the first 20 or so picks, the Draft is a crap-shoot...and, as Ryan Leaf and Johnny Manziel attest, even then you can't be sure.
This is all nonsense. Sixth round, anyone? Or the ninth, when Johnny U. was picked?

I like Stidham since he is on the Patriots.
How he does is TBD

I'm playing wait and see as well. Await the scouting report with regards to his quickness. If deemed cat-like, that bumps my evaluation of Stidham up.

Stronger argument than paraphrasing anonymous source.

Which is a heck of a lot more powerful than "some guy said" or Felger or Bertram said ( which is about the same as some guy said)...

You are really not a person that recognises and understands obvious sarcasm.

That is pretty much the best case scenario from my POV.

Brady wasn't doing any special things until 2004 and you can see that reflected in how his Y/A -- or ANY/A if you wan't to be fancy -- made a jump by almost an entire yard after 2003. It took him 1 year on the bench and 3 years starting to develop into one of the top QBs in the league.

The only relevant thing with Stidham will be if he keeps improving and learning from mistakes he will inevitably make. My hope is that his arrow is still pointing in the right direction after this season is over.

If he is a perfectly average QB that keeps improving month by month then at least we have someone to built on for the next 2 years. And if he turns into a top 5 QB in the future once he can put it all together then we are golden. But expecting magical things that outliers like Mahomes have shown early is just a fool's errand and a certain way to be disappointed.

Mahomes makes a lot of mistakes. Hill has bailed him out many times and Mahomes has bailed himself out many times because of his extraordinary athleticism.

I agree that if Stidham is Brady 2001, that’s a huge win. I’ll happily take a game manager for this season.
