If we are going to have a successful season we are gonna have to win some ugly, low scoring games. While the rest of the league is trying to get more explosive on offense the Pats are solidifying their defense. Belichick has been pretty good in the past when bucking the trend and going his own direction, I hope he is right this time.

I would expect to solidify our OL in the 4th round and be a heavy run/clock control team. The Damien Harris pick last year would make a lot more sense then.

LB Jordan Elliott to the Browns

Yeah, if I ever brought an Afernee home to my dad, he would kill me....let's hope this one can play some good defense though.
Spelling snob

I wouldn’t temper any decision by “ we have Meyers”.

Depends on who you're comparing it to. Sure, I wouldn't have passed on Jalen Reagor because I had Meyers.

But would I pass on James Proche as our 2nd WR selection in the 3rd? Yes.

Again, resource allocation. Meyers has shown he can play in the NFL, and has a lot of room to improve. He's already on the team. Why take a guy that profiles pretty similarly as our second 3rd round WR? Obviously I'm talking hypothetical since we just drafted Jennings. But Edelman, Sanu, Meyers, and Proche all profile as slot guys. Don't need an entire unit of slot guys. Grab someone with some speed, to bring some skill variance. At this point, you aren't dealing with studs. You're starting to deal with guys that are rounding out the bottom of your receiving unit.

The other thing that is probably holding back Jennings' draft stock: a traumatic knee injury that nearly resulted in a leg amputation. A PCL tear in the 2018 Sugar Bowl National Semifinal against Clemson caused damage to the artery in his left leg and produced a blood clot. Fortunately for Jennings, doctors were able to diagnose and treat the injury quickly before amputation was necessary.

what...the ....FAKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you going to leave out the fact he played every game this year?

Next pick will be on Offense :D

or not ....

Anfernee Jennings is 6-3, 259 pounds. He had 44 pressures on 294 pass-rush snaps in 2019, per
@PFF
. They had him graded equally well as a pass rusher and run defender. More of a traditional edge defender than Josh Uche, who's more of a hybrid.
Uche has far, far more pass rushing skills and far superior as an overall athlete.

Hopefully Jennings can stay healthy. Had a bad knee injury
That’s a typical BB trend too.....supposedly Sony’s knee was almost bone on bone when we drafted him....give him one more season!!!

So we now know that LaCosse and Izzo have the pictures from Jake Bequette

Kraft has his mouth opened and I am sure he is asking, what the hell is BB doing? He is going back to 2001, after all gas is 1.99 again.

"Son of a *****! I let Brady go for this?"

They’ve basically replaced Van Noy (Jennings) and Collins (Uche).

Jennings will probably never be an elite player IMO. I think we will know real quick if hes got it or not. If hes the real thing, He will probably start right away and be a solid player

New England Patriots: Anfernee Jennings, LB, Alabama - A- Grade
It can't be a surprise that Bill Belichick selected a Nick Saban linebacker. The Patriots needed to address the linebacker situation with so many players at the position leaving in free agency. Jennings was someone I mocked at the beginning of the third round, so I like the value.

Goodell massacred another announcement.

Eason or Trautman?

Want no part of Eason. Overrated. He might be ok behind Big Ben, but hes a poor fit here. He can drive the ball downfid but that's about it.
