No. I have respiratory issues, so I am careful about my associations everyday. I don't expect Congress or the NFL to look after me. If the NFL and the US Government come up with some measures that will make attending events safer, I will still consider my own circumstances before attending an event.
In your rush to excuse what you have absolutely no need to excuse using an inappropriate self-interest framework, you've missed the point.
The point is that you cant eliminate the additional risk
to yourself,
by yourself.
If you stay home and there's a surge in infections, unless you're in a specialized facility of some sort, you still get your food delivered or buy it (just as I was reminded in this thread.) Those who perceive themselves as vulnerable, like you, do what we can to protect ourselves.
Those who perceive themselves as
invulnerable increase our odds, and their own. The only difference is, they happily ignore additional risk to themselves.
I appreciate TF out of the not-invulnerables who walk
in to the danger, and work to help the rest of us, by the way. Just wow. Anyway, just weighing in to say it's great to say you'll keep yourself safe(r) by not attending.
But I wouldn't sugar-coat it. Holding the game loads unnecessary risk on you, and on me, and probably on half of the butt wipes so impatient to do so.
Oh well. Maybe Mr. "It could go away like a miracle, let's not do anything" is really really super super serious about the safety of others now.
OW
I'm sorry, I think a monkey just flew out of my butt.
Sure but you're not everyone.
That's the thing, we're all part of everybody, both as risk-loaders and as risk-subjected.
