...I’m trying to do things that have never been done in my sport. That’s actually fun for me, too, because I know I can do them. When a team gives you the opportunity to do those things with them, well … if not with them, then who?

At some point, you have to throw your whole body into what you’re doing. You have to say, Let’s ride. Let’s see what we got.

I want to show everybody what I got.

Wow, what an arrogant jerk with no perspective or humility.

Brady got the 20 year itch with the Pats, Giselle better watch out. ;)

All this says to me is that he wants to be seen and heard. BB limited his potential to be more popular than he is. He wanted to break free.

An enjoyable read that didn’t actually tell me very much. It boiled down to “I wanted to do this because I wanted to do this.”

I miss the Light Beer from Miller era of athlete/celebrity spokesmen.

Tough line to toe for Tom.

I've heard that some people that root for the Patriots are really, really resentful and stupid when they read anything that could be misinterpreted as a slight. In fact, there may even be some of those people on this very board (everywhere.)

Basically any specifics he gives about leaving New England will lead to a media sht storm. If he says it's about the roster in Tampa, expect a gigantic story about how he disrespected his old teammates.

I thought it was clear by his letter that things had simply run their course in New England. Also no mention of Belichick at all.

If you get it, no explanation is necessary. If you don't get it, no explanation is possible.

He left. He chose to leave. He made his bed, he will have to lie in it. I Imagine there will be a time when he misses how Belichick coaches. Probably not this season unless it's later on, but 2021? Absolutely.

Some people don't think this was a big deal. I do. He left by choice, and it shades how I look at him.

Hi didn't go down there to just go down there.

He's still the same guy always was, just going to be doing things on a different team. Might even do it a different way (though, I'm not sure how it will look).

Whether he wanted to try something different or he wanted to come back, but it didn't work out - doesn't tarnish his legacy in my eye. I'll still root for him - except when he plays the Patriots. I'll still be able to celebrate him moments.

He went from the strict overbearing (but highly successful) parent to hang out with the fun beer-guzzling uncle. Should be cool for about 5 months

.

Yep. Only Way is Through.

Tom was through with the NEP & BB.

BB was through with Tom.

Here come the ungrateful anti-Brady crowd. The second he leaves it’s like they forget he helped carry this franchise to glory for 20 years.

Ask Cavs fans how they felt about LeBron right after "The Decision."

Kind of surprised that he didn't mention BB in the article.
