2020 Mock Drafts

23) I'd rather have Epenesa at DE...or better still LBs Ken Murray or Zach Baun.

87) Love the Trautman pick.

98) Like the Bowden pick...though I'm torn between him and Van Jefferson right now...

100) Dye's been a productive player, but he might be damaged goods already...I'd rather have DTs Leki Fotu or Davon Hamilton here so Fat Thor doesn't play...or even stay...

125) Love the Biadasz pick...IF his shoulder's good to go...

172) Lavert Hill's ok I guess, but I'd rather take my chances on the more physically impressive & versatile Michael Ojemudia, or on Safeties K'Von Wallace, JR Reed or Josh Metellus to help replace Harmon (& hopefully Chung too)...

195) No doubt that Willie Gay's a specimen, but his instincts are questionable, as is his character ... If I have to go LB here I'd rather take a less athletic but more reliable one such as Evan Weaver or Shaquille Quarterman...

204) Absolutely feckin Hate this feckin pick...No feckin RBs!

212) Driscoll's a New Englander & UMass grad, but he might not be able to stay outside at this level...Texas Tech OT Terence Steele is a project, but also a better prospect than Driscoll...

213) No feckin QBs either!

230) Really like the Quez Watkins pick...probably the best remaining WR available, and we did need to double-up at this position, among others...

241) Don't really like this pick though...I'd rather just double-up at TE here with Jake Breeland (IF his knee passes muster) or CJ O'Grady...

I wonder how gross matos should fit our scheme if we keep playing 3-4 mainly. See him only as a 4-3 DE. Eprnesa or Baun are much better fits .

And more versatile too, from 5-man to 8-man boxes...

Do we have enough defensive linemen on the roster now to play an odd man front?

Swear to god, before I saw your post. I wrote down Epenesa at 23. Love Trautman too.
Jefferson and Fotu at 98 and 100. I like Bredeson at 125 and Georgia K in 5th. Or, at least Bill does. If we could get Runyan or Driscoll in 6th and Gay Jr. that would be awesome. Don't know what's left out there. Would look to double up at wr and te after that.

It might be less a question of Do we have enough D-Linemen now to play a 3-man front, and more a question of Do we have the right D-Linemen? We need a NT to anchor a 3-4, and unless we consider Fat Thor that anchor (which I don't), then we need to find one during the draft, such as Leki Fotu, Davon Hamilton (though he's really more a DT than NT) or Benito Jones...

If we could get Epenesa and Fotu I’d be thrilled

Tony Pauline's PFN website has added a mock draft simulator, which includes the ability to trade, based on his rankings as of 11 March...very addicting...

PFN Mock Draft Simulator

My most recent attempt had all 5 of the offensive players I would take at 23 - Herbert, Jeudy, Wills, Wirfs & Andrew Thomas - already gone...fortunately LB Ken Murray was still available, so I traded down 3 times, picked up a 5th, 4th & comp 3rd, then gave Green Bay two of my 3rd-round comps for their 2nd-rounder...So I ended-up with Murray, GB's 2nd to atone for the Mo Sanu disaster (I took C/G Matt Hennessy) three 3rds (WR Chase Claypool, DT Leki Fotu & TE Harrison Bryant)...and I think I still had 9 Day 3 picks remaining!

Don't understand how Billy can continue to feck up the process so badly so often, with all of the additional information on prospects that he has at his disposal...
Really liked this simulator that we can make trades. Only did 5 rounds, unfortunately I think the result is very unrealistic .
My 1st attempt I trade our 1st for the falcons two 2nd rounders
47- Zack baun, 48- Ross blackblock, 87- ashtyn Davis , 98- kmet, 100- Donovan people-Jones, 125- Albert o., 172- James prouche.

I’d wager we take Raekwon Davis if we trade back. May not be a bad thing. Went back to Bama for his senior year. Captain. Sana’a is gonna put a good word in for him

You're right about the simulator being unrealistic. I just did one with trades and after moving down 4 times total and up once I ended up with:

Patrick Queen LB LSU
Tee Higgins WR Clemson
Adam Trautman TE Dayton
Cole Kmet TE Notre Dame
Jordyn Brooks LB Texas Tech
Jake Fromm QB Georgia
Davon Hamilton DT Ohio State
James Proche WR SMU
McTelvin Agim DT Arkansas
Alex Taylor OT SC State
Shaquille Quarterman LB Miami
Darryl Williams OL Miss State
Tyler Bass K Georgia Southern
Derrek Tuszka Edge North Dakota State

Plus an extra 4th and 6th round pick in 2021

Just finished a mock using PFN simulator (rankings as of yesterday):

23. Kenneth Murray LB Oklahoma
- No trades this time, as he's one of only 8 players for whom I keep this pick, and all the others are gone...And we really could use an athletic mid-fielder like him...

87. Chase Claypool WR/HB Notre Dame
- All 3 of Pittman, Bowden & Van Jefferson were gone, so I decided to gamble on greatness and pass on the production of Duvernay, Gabriel Davis, DPJ & AGG...

98. Cole Kmet TE Notre Dame
- He's not lasting this long of course, but since I already drafted Robin, might as well draft Batman too...

100. Davon Hamilton DT Ohio State
- Leki Fotu's already gone, and Fat Thor feckin sucks...Hamilton's big, strong & athletic, and according to the Senior Bowl's (& former Pats scout) Jim Nagy is on the rise...

125. Antonio Gibson WR/KR/RB Memphis
- My top 5 C/Gs, as well as RT Isaiah Wilson & SWT Matthew Neal Peart, were all gone before 87 (SWT Saadiq Charles at 89), so there's no other O-Linemen I like for awhile...Might as well grab another versatile Weapon for Stid...

172. J.R. Reed S Georgia
- Professional Safety...not the best athlete, but he knows what to do, and we need one now that Harmon (& Chung soon too I hope) is gone...

195. Alex Taylor OT SC State
- Didn't plan on waiting this long to draft an O-Lineman...Former basketball player, so he's more prospect than proven as of now...might need a year on the PS (if he doesn't get claimed first) to add strength, but those tools...

204. James Smith-Williams DE NC State
- If he could only stay healthy...terrific athlete & good kid...We could use another DE anyway...

212. Joe Reed WR/PR UVA
- Another Weapon, and our future Punt Returner...

213. Darryl Williams C/G Mississippi State
- We need to replace Ted Karras, even if Andrews is good to go....the choice came down to Williams and the pair from Oregon, Jake Hanson & Calvin Doc Throckmorton...

230. Dalton Keene TE VA Tech
- Really don't think he'll last this long, but I would be thrilled with either him or Charlie T in the 7th round as Part 2 of a TE double-dip (triple-dip if one considers Claypool more H-Back than WR)...

241. Reggie Robinson DB Tulsa
- No way in the world he lasts this long...one of the most athletic DBs at the combine...

Top 3 look excellent would be very happy with these

Had better add , dont know enough about the rest !

My latest mock draft. Say what you want but I like it.

Absolutely love the first 3 picks...Cesar Ruiz will never see even the beginning of the 3rd round unfortunately...
If any of Kmet, Trautman or Harrison Bryant is still available at #100, I would take them ahead of Albert O...
I like the WRs...I'm also ass-uming that Pittman, Claypool, Bowden & Van Jefferson were all taken before #125...
Not a fan of the next 5 picks, sorry...I do however like Toohill, but he's probably better-suited as a 3-4 OLB in BAL & PIT than as either a DE or space-covering LB here...

Agree with Ruiz - he will not be available in 3rd round. However he is one of my favourite players and would be a great addition in real draft.
You are also correct with TE and WR's group. All players mentioned by you had been gone. However Gabriel Davis is quite interesting prospect.
I have to admit that last three choices were a bit anonymous for me.
All in all if that scenario happens I would be content.

Swap Raekwon Davis & Leki Fotu (both of whom I really like at those spots btw) for an OLman & Free Safety (Chinn is more SS/LB) - seeing that we already stole Javon Kinlaw in the 1st round - and that draft would absolutely kick ass!
